Just bought back my first watch!

In April 2005 we stopped in Roatan, Honduras (or could have been Belize as we stopped in both ports) for a day on a cruise ship and a being a relatively new port watch and jewellery shops were just opening up. From memory there was a new Columbian Emeralds store which stocked Omega which I went in.

I bought an Omega Seamaster Professional 300m. Automatics were around £900 and the battery/manual £750 once exchanged but I didn't know this at the time. The shop had only just opened and I ended up buying an automatic but only paid £750 - it was only later that on other islands and checking out the prices that I'd worked out the correct prices and that they had sold me the more expensive watch for the cheaper price. I had really wanted a Rolex but couldn't afford one. Anyway a few months later we were going on another Caribbean cruise with my parents and I ended up pushing the boat out and buying a Yachtmaster Rolex. I sold the Omega to one of the guys I worked with for the price I paid and he's worn it ever since.

I've kind of always wish I'd kept hold of it and often joked with him about buying it back. Anyway today I made him an offer and he accepted it, so 11 1/2 years later its come full circle. I'm thinking of it more for my son than me, but nice to have it back. Tried uploading a picture, but just can't get my head around technology!

Very nice. I just bought a watch back after three years and it's a very nice feeling.

SMP Bond is a wonderful watch and has a rock solid movement!!! I have one and just added a PO in orange as well. Love them both. Congratulations!!! Have fun getting reacquainted.

Another great story behind a watch! So glad you have this back in your collection. With the history behind it this must be passed on as planned some day. It's also amazing how the prices evolved on these watches well beyond the rate of inflation like most other brands. When a rep from Swatch sent me some history on this the price made me wish I could have gotten one back then.

Mine was my first good watch; I can understand well. It also got me psyched for the one I got two days ago. My Planet Ocean in Orange.

Too cool. I had the same watch but the chronograph version as my first. I would give anything to get that one back but sadly, that was the first victim and a long and tumultuous flipping career. Lol

Cool story, I bought that same watch in 2005 with a bonus check! I sadly traded it later on. I will however get it back one day.
