5235g

While I was looking at 5524g, ADs are v keen to buy my 5235g at slight premium over the current MSRP (10%+) as there are immediate buyer waiting who don't mind mint preown at premium.

I find that interesting since I read 5235g is a dead duck similar to 5960/1a.

I not selling mine.

Just something I find interesting n to share.

HAGWE ahead!.. jen

I love my 5235 as well and have had it for over two years. Spoke to London and Paris Salon last month while on vacation and both confirmed they have not received one in all of 2016. Same for HSWA and they told me this piece takes twice as long to make compared to the other ACs in the current catalog. I would be surprised if this piece isn't retired this year based on what I have heard.

Like always some regions have more demand and less offer for certain pieces, can't imagine someone getting in Europe a 5711 in less than 3-4 years, except if that person has previous purchases from that AD...

PP made a set number of these and then slowly released them into the market. Not sure if they have exhausted their supply but this one will be discontinued in the near future.

The first regulator wrist watch from PP - this will for sure be highly collectible over the medium to long term.

Freaking love mine...one of my favorite watches. Don't sell it! I like it so much I almost bought 2...one to wear and one to keep in the safe for resale later on. Should have done it but I knew a fellow WIS who was dying for the watch so I "let" him buy it instead and gave up my spot.

Like with anything, it is a matter of supply and demand. There are people willing to pay a premium to purchase things that are hard to obtain.

The supply of new 5235 is very tight at the moment, but they are still manufacturing them in small numbers according to Patek Geneva.

The fact that it is Patek's only regulator makes it a special watch. Some collectors value this, whereas others don't care and would rather get another watch at that price range.

I think it is definitely a keeper!

I have one...great watch
My only criticism is that I find the calendar hard to read

I too, love my 5235 very much.

Things that make the 5235 so special to me (IMHO)..

That dial... that icy coldness of the dial make the watch very un-Patek-Philippe.
The "Regulator" function is unique in the PP range.
That engraved PP on that dial is so cold and cool at the same time.
That buckle with the Art Deco PP engraved is also unique among PP range.
Love the casing design, so sharp and contemporary.

Love the minute markers which under the right lighting condition, that blue looks translucent almost like "enamel" effect. (Anyone know why is this so??)

Most importantly, I think at the current MSRP, I think it is a huge bargain! Look at the PP Advance Reserach Series, 5235 has almost all of the features (am I correct??) only minus that magnifying glass cyclop. Mine is very accurate at only +1s in 2 weeks straight, worn daily.

The only thing that disappoint me is the PR which during the very early announcement, PP published a much higher power reserve compared to the actual end product. But still more than enough as a daily watch. This shows PP also human. I have never heard of PP ever failed to deliver what they promised. Even a century old pocket watch, PP not only can services and repair, they can rejuvenate and make it new again! So... 5235 is almost like an bad omen LOL... that makes me love mine even more!
