Well, what can I say....? For the way I am, I'd be tempted to ask all of us to call that store, like every day for a month and ask if they sell Tag...?

Tag makes some really nice watches. I would take my money to another place.

There really is no reason to laugh at anyone's watch, regardless of the brand. It's down right rude and reflects poorly on the one who is so arrogant as to do so.

Absolutely. I love watches, but I also have always had a couple cheap Invictas on hand as true beaters, things I could wear when I dont care if I break it or lose it. You could look at me and laugh that I had an Invicta on my wrist and wouldnt ever know I have tens of thousands of dollars in watches sitting at home. I'd rather lose a $60 Invicta than a $6k Omega.

My 70 year old dad recently visited and has never been in to or understood watches. He's always worn his $20 digital and been happy. I had an extra Invicta lying around that looked a lot like a Daytona. I dont wear it any longer as the job I used to do that warranted a true beater I'm not doing any longer. So I asked if he wanted it as something a bit different than the digitals he's always worn.

He loves the thing. He's thanked me over and over for the watch and as a non watch person, he doesnt care about the name or what it really is. For him its perfect. He likes the look, its something he hasnt had before and it works for him. He's not pretending its something its not nor is he believing its something its not. He just likes it. For him, ignorance is bliss and I'm glad.

I can afford to give him something nicer (not a real Daytona, but something better than an Invicta), but honestly, it would be lost on him anyway and a waste of money. I'm happy I could give him something he likes and if an Invicta does that, who is someone else to laugh and take that away.

I always love these sales people who put their nose up at other people when they can't themselves afford what they are peddling....

She's a clown for laughing at you even if you're wearing THIS:

The only watch that you should be laughed at for wearing is a fake.

lets not be too mean to her..may be, just may be, slightly, she was trying to use political maneuvering to get a sale, and didnt really mean to be rude to the brand...her trick clearly didnt work, and is not a good thing to use...gift her a Tag, and she would be very very proud and happy I am sure...so just forget this incident as a bad sales pitch my friend, sir, and dont worry about your watch tastes ;)

do share the awesome speedy you are eyeing...I am going to start saving for one from next month and given my low rate of saving, it will be mine in a year hopefully :D

Then when you buy your watch elsewhere, take a copy of your receipt to to her boss and explain why you bought it elsewhere! ;)
