Hey Gang,

Here is a picture of the Lange 1815 Up/Down Special Edition for the Cellini Jewelry Store in NY which is celebrating their 40th Anniversary. The only difference is found on the dial - the Number 40 is in Red and the face is a Bright White instead of the more silver/white/cream face on the standard 1815 Up/Down. Only 40 pieces will be made. Nothing else different with the watch. In the picture, the entry level 1815 is also shown to see the slight difference in the color of the white dial.

Here is my question. I think the Standard 1815 Up/Down Version looks great and most ADs will discount that watch 20-25%. The discount on this Anniversary Edition is very small. Do you guys think this "Special Edition Dial" is worth an extra 5K?

I don't think it's worth an extra 5k, but for someone else it will be worth it

As a bonus you will get a power reserve indicator too, however the question is whether is it worth or not. I think not considering a watch with power reserve indicator as opposed to the one not having that making a price difference but when we think of a high end brand things can double or even more for a small complication no matter what

The Power Reserve is Standard on the 1815 Up/Down. The only reason I showed their Entry Level 1815 next to the 40th Anniversary Edition is because they didnt have a Standard 1815 Up/Down and I wanted you guys to see the difference in the white dial.

No way. I don't see any value differential in the Cellini Edition. Nothing materially different in my opinion and therefore nothing collectible that might justify paying over the market value (albeit less than retail).

I don't think it's worth it... I also think watch brands should stop making limited editions, but that's another story.

A limited edition of 40 is pretty rare.... I'd say it's worth it to have something so rare. Though the token changes aren't the most exciting things in the world.

No I don't think it's worth it. I will go for the 1815 Honeygold boutique edition instead. I think that one is also limited.

The face is NOT enamel. In regards to the Honeygold Boutique Edition, great looking watch...but I'm really disappointed it doesn't have the Blue hands on it. That is one thing I'm also disappointed to see on the new Lange 1815 Annual Calendar...no blue hands. That would be like buying a Ferrari but not getting it in red...
