GMT II Bezel Question

Looking for a Pepsi GMT with 3186 movement. I found a black GMT M serial at an AD and they offered to change the bezel to Pepsi. Is there any way to tell from the serial # or warranty papers what the original bezel color was? If I sold the watch a few years from now, I wouldn't want the new owner to have any issues.

Yes there is - at least the M serials have bezel color designations on the credit card warranty.

If the dealer changes it out he is supposed to notify Rolex.
See if you can keep both bezels.

No, Rolex really does not care, in the US they will insist that the bezel be a swap only though.

In Cyprus, I contacted the local AD, went there and managed them to change my pepsi bezel to a black one. What´s most important though is that I kept my pepsi one and bought the coke as well. So I now own all three of them.

The extended model number on the warranty card or paper designates which bezel is on the watch I think. We get hosed in the US trying to acquire bezels because RUSA has a policy of exchange only.

Yes, you can tell from the ref. number given on the paper/card.
Pepsi bezel is 16710B and coke is 16710A, not sure black bezel.

Same Here. I have yet to see an original black bezel with the 3186. Either a Z or M serial.

I haven't personally seen it so for all I know the sales rep doesn't know the Ceramic from the original GMT. Before I drive there I will confirm it is a true Black GMT II M series.

...My TRF brother...The "Pepsi" is the epitome of all GMT inserts.

If YOU ever loose a sale because of the insert change...I WILL BUY it...

Hi, I have just looked at my credit card style registration document and my Z serial red/black GMT II has the 16710M model number.
What does the M mean as GMTobsessed says that the red/black should have an A after the 16710?

Cheers, PeterT

Hi PeterT, please check Sheldon' comparison here:

But I'm not sure A or B after ref.16710 only apply for "M" serial

Just curious - what's the model # on the credit card warranty?
