DSSD has arrived >>>
It's a big one including the box. The writing that I criticized to no end is not that visible in person but pictures sure make it stand out.
I do not think it is too big considering the big trend. It is a thick watch but not out of proportion compared to a regular SD IMO. I apologize for the poor quality pics, I took them fast and I do not have a light box set-up at the moment. I think it is one model that people will love or hate. The AD I got it from said one salesman really wants one badly but they will not let him get one until their waiting list is satisfied. =) maverick yes the etching it there |

It looks good and fits your wrist. The watch has come under criticism for being too bulky, disproportionate, heavy etc etc. I think it's all a matter of choice and personal taste - if you have the money and find the watch meets all your needs, then by all means go for it. My guess is that once the price premium narrows and the watch becomes more affordable, a lot of critics out there would be queueing up to buy for themselves. Congrats on a handsome buy and all the best.

Thanks all for the nice words. The workmanship is excellent on this model. It is quite different than any other Rolex I have had.
I like the improved bracelet and clasp are really nice plus the doomed crystal. =) maverick |

Nice score Mav. It's nice to hear a positive report on the reference. As mentioned, I think this is a watch that is going to develop it's own following. Rolex has answered the call in the "big watch" arena with a piece to rival offering from Panerai and others, and one positioned to create it's own niche.
It looks great on your wrist, not out of proportion at all. I can't wait to get the call from my AD. |

I like the second picture with the DSSD next to the Oyster SwimPruf green tag.
Slight understatement, I think it is more than SwimPruf! AJF. |

I just wondered how you found the watch felt on your wrist, ie. is it a balanced feel or does it feel like there is too much weight sitting on top of your wrist ???

maverick take look...
Maverick take a look at how the verbiage "original gas escape valve" lines up at exactly the 12 o'clock mark- the "e" of escape on yours appears to be dead on over the mark- the sdds i picked up a few weeks ago is same
however upon careful examination of the watches coming from factory now the verbiage appears to be centered with the space between the words "gas" and "escape" above the 12- this subtle shift left of the words adds symetry. |
