Need some help.
Hey folks First post
I recently was given an Oyster Perpetual Datjust. But Im pretty clueless when it comes to Rolex. So I took it to my local Ben Bridge for some insight, They pretty much said it SEEMED authentic except for the Fact that at the bottom of the dial it said "T SWISS MADE T" they were also able to tell me the watch is Circa 1993 Since the serial number is "Sxxxxxx" (dont remember what they told me) They also mentioned the dial was missing numbers which they found odd since they were gone but not in the watch. So basically I went in there confused and came out with even more questions and no answers. So I did some research and found out the "T SWISS MADE T" is usually put on watches for lumiescense. But the thing is the numbers on the dial dont Glow....So yes im confused and came here for help. Here is a picture that will hopefully will help you help me |

Welcome to TRF.
You could send it to a Rolex Service Center (RSC) and ask for an estimate for a full service, including new dial and hands. If it is not authentic, they might not return it to you, since fake Rolexes are, I think, subject to confiscation by law enforcement.

There are definitely some issues... I don't think that your Ben Bridge is a very good source of "authentication" unless they had a Rolex trained watchmaker on staff and he/she looked inside it.. The T Swiss Made T is correct for that watch. It indicates the little dots at the edge of the hour markers, and the white portion of the hands, is made of tritium, which would not glow after 15 years.. If you look at several of the hour numbers (7, 8, and 11) you can see two little dots beside them... These dots (holes) are where the missing V's and I's are supposed to be.. Where they have gone is anybodies guess, but since they are not there, then somebody took them out.. If you think it is authentic, then I agree....Send it to a Rolex Service Center for an estimate for a good service and new dial... I estimate 500 bucks for the overhaul, and a hundred for a new dial...
