Rolex is really ticking me off!!
The first thing you see when you go to the Rolex website is this pic of the blue SkyD. Also they have been constantly showing it in the electronic billboard. REALLY!! Why constantly show/advertise a watch that they basically let no one purchase? Teasers I suppose...and yes I'm not so patiently awaiting one.

I have to agree with you. I’m at the RSC having a watch sized and the only thing more annoying that the seeming inability of people to answer their mobiles with loud and annoying ring tones quickly is watching the Rolex promotional video with all the currently unavailable “hot” models being shown and extolled on constant rotation! |

drives me nuts too but it's the perfect marketing plan to get non-wis types to ADs and then buy other models when they learn of the 15 year waitlist for the SkyD or daytona

In my younger days i used to lust after the likes of Elle, Christie and Cindy, etc, etc. Despite their pictures every where i turned, it seemed like everybody else was getting a go at them. The closest i could get was Delvene and she was already taken by Strop. At the end of the day i gave up and got a grip on reality. |

Agreed. They show the ads seemingly pretending they don’t know there is a shortage

They’ve been plastering the Blue SkyD everywhere (e.g. Instagram). Gotta love Rolex, they spend craploads of money on advertising for watches you can’t even buy! Billboards all over south Florida of watches you literally cannot find anywhere

Or just as bad a grey here with an ad in the subway featuring a pic of the Stainless Steel Daytona with “SALE!” next to it.
well there may be some watches on sale but it sure isn’t a ceramic Daytona. Those are going for about $7,000 over MSRP. |

+1 !! I've been on the list since Basel last year for the blue SkyD. Starting to get a bit annoyed myself.

Its' the backbone of their business model! It actually removes the "joy" out of treating yourself to a completely unnecessary extravagance.

What ticks me off even more, is I went into the Rolex dealer in the metro centre in Newcastle on Monday, and not a single sports Rolex.
Not a 100 yards from them there’s an independent with a ceramic Daytona, blue face SD, multiple subs: all 2018 watches bnib, at insane prices. No suspicion that all th good stuffs going out the back door to the local indie at way over list |

I have to agree, I guess Rolex wants to lure the casual buyer into the store with the hopes the will buy something.
