~20 year old Seamaster 300: Is it even worth selling?
When I was in college, I bought a Seamaster 300 (https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/w...eter-25318000/) because I thought the James Bond watch was cool. I put it on a strap pretty early in its life and have since lost the bracelet.
I've had it serviced (as recently as 2016), but I literally NEVER wear it. I wonder if there would even be a market for a watch like that if I tried to sell it. If it'd only fetch a few hundred bucks, I don't think it'd be worth it. Anyone have an opinion? Should I just keep it as a beater, or might it actually be worth selling? |

One of the most iconic watches ever. Value is tied to condition, but I'd absolutely keep it as a beater.

You will make some money if you sell it. If you don’t wear it get it to someone who will. Unless it has particular sentimental value or you are hedging it as an investment, no point keeping a watch you don’t wear.

Keep it. Habits change, and some day you'll probably enjoy using it again.

2531.80 is a popular watch amongst Omega collectors and Bond fans.
Best to hold on to it and wear on occasion. Without bracelet box and papers it should fetch more way down the road than at present.

Maybe put it on a strap or something and try it out? Might give it a new life.
I would probably would anyway because I'm not much of a fan of that style, but a nice dark brown strap would look good I think. |

A full kit mint condition 2531 would fetch about $1.5k. Yours probably fetch 1k depending on its cosmetic condition.
As what other have said, keep it, unless you are in need of cash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

not sure if without box/papers/bracelet you will get near 1k, i have been looking at used fully kitted ones and they are about 1.5k on chrono24. if you don't wear it what is the point of just keeping it.

What would be your own reason to keep it? Value down the road? This is speculative. Me personally I don't like carrying items I don't use, and while on a % basis this may appreciate quite handsomely, it is still peanuts we're talking about in actual $ terms.

Sell it. I don't see these going up in value; way too many were made and the design is a little dated.
Get what you can and put the $ into something you will wear more often.
