Chipped my cristal
Hello,
So, after 15 years of abusing daily my Explorer I only had to service it at regular intervals. Some months ago I bought a diver watch to give this a rest and now I found that I have chipped the cristal at the edge of the 8 hour (pics are magnified). I just received it back from its last service 3 weeks ago. Any idea on how much a replacement could be? Are there any alternatives to replacement? Thanks in advance for your support. Best regards, |

Take a black sharpie and dab it on the chip. It won't make it go away, but it will make it less reflective and you won't see it as much.

Adds character, history and memories (in this case may be not a good one) I'd leave it. It is an Explorer after all....

Just get it replaced at the next service.

Chipped my cristal
I had my 114300 OP39 crystal replaced and it about $315, should be similar on the explorer. See below

There's a loss of structural integrity at the point of the damage. Chances of a catastrophic shatter are greatly increased at that break. If it's still a working watch I would replace it. If it's headed for a life of dinners out and weekends at the club then let it go and make up an outlandish story of how it got there to impress your buds. :)

For no more than what it will cost I would fix it.
