116519ln is my choice. I have it and think it’s great. No real wrong choice here.

116519 by a mile.
116509 doesn't do it for me, reminds of a Breitling Chronomat, nothing wrong with it but doesn't feel like a proper Daytona as much IMHO. |

And the 116509 blue is on the photos better than in real life!! The 116519 is grandiose!!go for it!! 116519 with the ceramic bezel is much more wearable than without |

WOW, so many comments about the blue being too dark in real life, did you guys own one? We call that sunburst gentlemen ! The thing goes from mesmerizing electric blue to almost black depending on light conditions.
Best of both worlds (sorry for the strap, was kind of a exotic experiment, OEM though !!!) |

Tough call!!
Given your collection, I don't see why you "need" to make a choice? |

The blue Daytona didn't look the same when I saw it at AD, maybe it was the lighting or the wrapping on the watch. I wouldn't use the Rolex generated pictures to judge this watch, go look at it at the AD if possible but I would go for the WG which I did see and it was gorgeous.

The blue one looks quite good..... only when the sun shines on the watch. |

Look
Our friend has a great collection with a platinum DD so a WG daytona also looks in the collection like a poor man Watch ?! If I think about a Daytona on metal strap...and I would have a platinum DD in my collection I would only buy one in platinum. If it should be more sporty I would buy a 116519. There you cannot see so much from the grey shining WG.... because platin is a clear white metal. I had also a WG one with the blue dial, but the platin wins every time therefore, I sold the blue WG. In future i want also to buy myself a 116519 because there is enough difference to a 116506 |
