Rolex Submariner/YG BLUE CERAMIC

Hey there guys/girls,
I was wondering if anyone has compared the 16613 TT Blue to the new (Yellow Gold) Blue dial of the New Ceramic sub. Does the new Ceramic Sub in Yellow gold and blue dial still have that lovely effect on the dial as the light hits it (almost like a propellor shape) does it still look like the bluesy that we all know the TT to be ?

Thanks

the blue looks very different on the new one, I don't like it actually. the old one was deep and classy, the new one is the smurf blue.

So did I - I liked the colour - side by side in the same light, I couldn't see much difference compared to my blue TT.

I went to monards in sydney today with my in laws, i saw and compared the YG sub to the old TT the colour is not a smurf blue as some press pics show and is rather good looking with the amount of upgrades over the current it feels and shows like a new and improved watch.

likes
- new clasp and solid braclet
- maxidails - BTW THE LUME IS BLUE/WHITE LIKE THE DEEPSEA i was completely blown away on how good it looks.
- ceramic bezel - turns smoothly but in a sharp way to each minute.
- the weight is much more solid about the same weight as the gmt iic the current sub is too lightweight imo

dislikes
- the price
- not really a fan of full YG but in this occassion it was quite nice.

- not too sure about the shiny bracelet centre as it was taped up and so it was a bit hard to tell on how bling it really was.

I will definatley make my first purchase when the SS or the TT new sub comes out

heres a link to some good pics when i saw it in person the blue looked much darker but not as metallic as the current tt

I only managed to take 2 pics of it on my gf's phone but it wasnt that great..

Wow lovely photographs !! Thank You very much for that information. Although the watch looks really fantastic I feel that I really love the 'classier' blue of the 16613 and 16618 (Before) Wear that in good health and enjoy it. I think I will be getting the 16618 M series. Do they still sell that BRAND NEW ?????? (M Series 16618 or V Series 16618 ?

Thanks
Ashley

there are a couple older 16618 for sale in my country but you will need to be quick because they will be sold out soon

however i would suggest you to rethink and consider the new model with all the upgrades. the new clasp is fantastic and the supercase just gives the watch a better feeling on the wrist

Do you mean that Rolex (AD) still sell the older 16618 NEW ?
Can you change the fliplock clasp to the guidelock clasp ?

Thanks

there are a couple ones left
in fact i saw two in athens last week and one yesterday in new york where i am right now

i dont think you can change the clasp and if you could it would be too expensive
just get the new version
look forward not back
i bought the most comtemporary rolex model (YM II) a few months and never regretted it since then
it feels so special on the wrist

Thank you Mic6 for all of your help and information it is greatly appreciated !
The new one just doesn't float my boat !
I think if you could change the clasp I would, as the watches are for a lifetime.

Thanks again

Do you know the offical date of when Rolex will stop production of the 16618 ?

I've been trying not to like this watch but I just can't help it...
It is a great piece...

It's almost as if I resent it because I can't have it...

at almost $30K it's not something I'm willing to do, but come on...that ceramic bezel is a knockout...the maxi-dial is gorgeous... blue lume...wow.

don't hate it because it's beautiful....

When the TT bluesy comes down the line I might just be reasy to flip....
