Decided to keep 5167 and get a 5712

Hey folks

After some frenetic, compulsive impulsive days. I made a decision. I'm keeping my 5167 vs upgrading to '64. Simply put, I would have had to put down $20k to upgrade. I rather put down $20k (plus my JLC Reverso, bye bye), towards my 5712!

So I just paid about 50% of my 5712, now waiting for it to arrive. Decided to buy from a trusted dealer. My local AD just flat out said no. So I'm gonna pay a bit of a premium. I should expect to get it anywhere from now to 90 days. To be honest, I would have waited on an AD, but none wanted to take my money. I'm not one to beg.

Anyways, I think that'd be a solid collection for me

Here's to you all who have helped me make a decision

Great decision. I had a 5167 I bought 2nd hand. Decided to sell it and wait for a new one with my name on the papers. After that I want a 5712 as well.

It was right there but the dealer wanted me to buy a Calatrava at the same time. I didn't want to play that game.

I agree - there's been a wave of 5164 upgrades, but I'm happy to stand pat and allocate those funds toward something else.

Fair enough, adding the 12 is a great bit of business then.

I will keep that beautiful 5167 1A anytime. They are getting harder to find

Decided to keep 5167 and get a 5712

Tonight has been interesting... after posting this I learned that my 5712 might have to wait longer.

JM declined coverage... I never thought this might be an issue. I have great credit, never have had a claim, never not even a car claim.

Truth is,I can afford it, but I don’t think it’s responsible to buy it if I can’t insure it. Plus I get wife “support” if it’s insured. You guys know how important that “support” is.

I need to wait for my home renovation to be finished (and all permits closed) before I can change my policy. Then I can buy it.

So an incoming might be delayed. But I’m sticking with my dealer. He’s DavidSW! He is just fantastic.

Here’s a quick photo of the render of the outdoor where I’m gonna enjoy this 5712 (and currently 5167a) when it lands.
