Quick way to check if 16710 is stolen, fake, or in poor condition

Hi guys,

Need some piece of mind here. Have bought a second hand watch through Chrono24 and I'm looking for a quick and trustworthy way to check if the 16710 is stolen, fake, or just in an internal poor condition.

I'm based in London, and would need to have the check done within 14 days (since that's the time at which Chrono24 releases the money from their escrow service to the seller).

Where to go for this? What's the expected turnaround? Cost?

Any help is much appreciated!

I imagine pics posted here will allow people to tell you if it’s fake. A competent watchmaker near you can tell you if it’s in good condition and there is some sort of database that can tell you if it’s stolen but I don’t know how average people can access it. Not sure if Rolex mothership would tell you or not but they have records of reported stolen watches.

If you have the serial number, you can buy a search from Art Loss Register's watch section here:

Suggest you take it in to Rolex St James.

Not sure of best action when you get there!
Either ask for a service estimate (if they can do within your timescale) or try and buy an extra bezel insert, or get the strap adjusted.
Any of which should result in some feedback on its authenticity.

Also, as previously mentioned, pics on here for the experts to comment.

fingers crossed!
