Seeking opinions on this PAM 88

I have a customer that wants to trade what I think is a PAM 88 towards another watch I have. I have never owned a Panerai, and although it appears to be genuine, I thought I would ask the experts. The only obvious issues I can see are corrosion on the GMT and second hand. There is no evidence of any moisture intrusion anywhere. Case back is stamped OP6554 .Thanks!

Hi, I’m far from an expert but I wouldn’t go near that. I thought the 88 had a solid back? Those hands seem to be corroding? Whilst the picture quality isn’t great, the writing on the movement looks stamped?
Others will no better than I but that looks like poop to me.

Is it the lighting in the photos, or are the lume plots in the hands white?

Anyway, assuming it’s genuine, it’s got to be a really early series due to the “Panerai Panerai” engraving.... truth be told, I didn’t know they did that on 7750-based movements. I thought only manual models had it...(but I’m far from an expert).

The corrosion would be enough for me to pass, but if the deal is great, maybe see what the folks at P.com think?

It does have a solid case back, I took the movement pic with it removed.

It was the lighting, the lume on the dial and hands are the same off white/light yellow color. Serial number starts either PB or F. So it would be early 2000's I think

Apologies firstly for my stupidity on the case back - I'll excuse myself for reviewing late at night.... Also the new pics obviously clear the issue of the hands. I respectfully reverse my previous comments entirely!

Ah, okay, yes, that's the coloring I would expect to see.

I own a Pam 88 and like it much. It has amazing luminescence. That said, resale is a bit bad and I’d not buy it again. It’s a beautiful watch with a valjoux movement. The leather strap is amazing too. It stays sound forever if you wear a few days a week.

I did take this watch in as a trade. I was able to get it at a very good price and I want to replace the GMT hand, and the second hand that are is pitted. Is this something I can only find at a Panerai service center?
