Its always a currency adjustment but when the AUD was above the USD years ago there was no 'decrease' in price for currency increases.

Disappointing. The 114060 is now $9900 from $9450. Just a few weeks away from picking mine up at the AD... I wonder if they will honour the old price... lol

true... but its the same problem as in the UK. As an american i can and did buy a SS BLRO and paid less than $9k USD including a 20% tax. thats a full grand less than US prices including tax. Just imagine if i got the VAT returned. Something like $7500

No wonder some markets are harder to get watches in

I am way more in favor of currency adjustments than price increases as it corrects an imbalance, or at least reduces the imbalance as there still is one. If prices are comparable then local customers actually have a better chance at getting one as they are not competing with everyone else on the planet looking for a deal.

IMO with only 3 SS Pepsi a year, I think the price increase makes no difference since most don't even have a chance to see one...

We haven't had an increase for a while.

I'm shocked, after the increase it's still 9.7% cheaper than in Europe where retail price is 10,450 Eur = 16,720 AUD.

That really is offensive. I don’t care how wealthy you are. It’s just a watch for God sake.

Those watches are for the big boys. Not many people can play in that field.

Yes but our GST is 10% whilst most european VaT is 20-24%. Tax free prices are almost identical.

Well, I'm out of the game, begging to an AD!

Too many wealthy big boys around, I have had Rolex since 1984, nobody knew what it was or recognized the watch.

Now I'm wearing a Aus $18K S/S Daytona, going shopping and wondering if I should?

.

I updated my price list on page 1 for Australia (and Brazil) since last saturday.

Australian prices have increased around 5% for the whole range on march 1.

True, although the AD also said they do get one SS Daytona delivery each month and it alternates between the black dial and the white dial. One month they didn't get a shipment of the SS Daytona, and the alternating still continued (i.e., the month before the non-delivery was white and the month after the non-delivery was black). I'm sure their waiting list for the SS Daytona is long and has long since been closed to new people getting on to it.

But I envy the Aussie for being able to get the best versions of the Land Cruiser that I can only dream about here in USA:

We aussies pay way more for material things than the states. Our taxes suck big time over here + housing and everything is crazy high. Nothing in Sydney (well not much for 1 million or less for a house in the suburbs).

If I was based in the states I'd be driving a Lambo Huracan already as a daily.

I got to see the white Daytona yesterday for the first time ever

Albeit, for resale. Albeit in Tokyo, for ¥3,000,000 list price. That's ~$40,000AUD (list) for a SS Chrono. Made me glad I kept my siffert autavia instead. The AD in ginsa6 had 1 SS YM2. And a YM1.

Last time I went into my Australian AD they had like 2 or 3 men's datejusts. Pathetic.
