Congrats on the new watch.

Quick question - Does your Watch's crown look like that when it's pulled out (in your pic)?

Mine looks like it does in the attached pick when I pull it out. Just curious why they look so different.

Top pic is the one you posted - the second one is mine pulled out all the way.

As you can see - they look nothing alike. Mine is a 2018 Submariner Date.

I'm guessing not a lot Each one is a nice change from the other though. Both classics and my guess is this Submariner will be getting the majority of wrist time for a while.

No worries Carl, I'm glad to see others having luck. I'm fortunate that I got into Rolex in 2007 and have most of the references I want. It's always funny talking to AD's who want you to make a purchase to build a relationship with them but have nothing to sell you that you either don't already own or are overpriced. The only watches they have in stock are either Datejusts and I already own one or high end precious metal pieces that they won't discount at all and lose huge money the moment you walk out the door. It leaves me the customer in the position where it's easier to buy that solid gold sub/gmt from a trusted seller at 10-15,000 below MSRP and then pay 10K over MSRP for the daytona etc. that I want rather than build a relationship which will cost more in the long run. In my opinion the Rolex shortage is actually making an AD relationship less valuable for most buyers not more valuable. Especially for a ND sub which is selling for maybe $500 over list there is no point to bundling the watch or begging on my knees to get on a list. I'm content to just move on, live life and enjoy my watches. During the next recession I may buy another Rolex piece from an AD, until then at least I can get some Tudors. I'm loving my BB 58 which I got at Lugaro with a 3 year purchase history.

It doesn't make any sense, you're right, to go from a SS version to a TT.

Wish I could offer you more encouragement.

Cheers,
Carl

Thank you. I can't take credit for the last three pics, though, they are off the internet.

Thanks. As I mentioned in the review, the last three pics are not mine. I saved them off the internet, to keep me motivated for a few years! :) I believe that pic is taken when the watch is being produced, just to show the stem and how robust the crown mechanism is. Mine looks just like your's.

Cheers,
Carl

Thank you. I hope you guys don't think the last three are mine. I saved them off the internet over a year ago. I have just never found any like them. I believe they were all from the Rolex website.
Anyway, appreciate that you like the ones I took!
Cheers,
Carl

Finding a more sincerely welcoming and ethical group of people would not be possible. Acquiring my first Rolex Diver has been a truly gratifying experience. Submariner and Palladio Pin

I agree, PALLADIO is the best AD in Vancouver, definitely worth a visit.

Good looking watch, great photos.

Thank you. I always get a kick out of taking watch pics, especially to post a new watch thread.

When I first visited Palladio just about a year ago, I went in to inquire about the possibility of getting a Sub 114060, or an Explorer 1. Knowing, of course, they would not have either one in stock. I was treated with utmost respect, friendliness and professionalism. Even without being a previous client, I was told they could order me whichever one. Since I had not decided, I said I would get back to them.

Then we just started talking about watches in general, in particular the Omega I was wearing. Finally, I saw that they carry H. Moser. I had seen an fantastic photo of one, but never thought I would get to see it in real life. Well, when I found out they not only had H. Moser, but that exact model, that was it!

Even before I looked at other brands, they said that they would do their best to get me a Rolex if I wanted one. That really stayed with me. Next day I went back and got the H. Moser. The rest is history. They would never have got my business at all, even though I wanted the H. Moser, if I had been treated poorly at the outset.

Cheers,
Carl
