Black polish
I was admiring the hands and markers on my GS Snowflake in the sunlight today, at certain angle certain facets of the hand and markers actually turned black. Is that what some finishing on high end watches called black polishing?
It certainly looked amazing. |

Yep, that’s it. The polished surface is so perfectly even that it either reflects no light (black) or all light (white) depending on the angle. That’s one of the many things I love about the Snowflake.

It's black polishing. Generally, surfaces that appear flat actually have many bumps; consequently, they reflect light in various directions. Once a surface is flat enough, however, reflects light in one direction and in one direction. When viewed from a direction in which it does not reflect light, it appears black.

Ive noticed the black black polishing on the hands, but imo the edges of the indices all shining is the killer detail for me
