GMT Appraisal
I brought my new to me GMT 2008 LN into a respected, local watch shop for an appraisal. My insurance company asked for some documentation in order to provide an insurance value. Once I handed my GMT to the watch tech he began an examination of it. This particular shop is set up like a pharmacy. They are elevated above you, and their work stations are out of one’s sight line. I could hear him, but not see him.
This being my 1st watch purchase of such value, I was relieved to hear him commenting on its outstanding condition. He was amazed it was a 2008 vintage. Once the appraisal was complete, he handed me back my GMT. A firm handshake and heartfelt congratulations on such a wonderful Rolex and I was on my way. Although I felt I had made a wise decision in my purchase, his comments eased any residual anxiety I was feeling. |

How close was the appraised value to the retail price?
