2 watch "collection:" Rolex Explorer & what else?
I'm interested to see what you would pair with a Rolex Explorer (39 or 36mm,) in a 2-watch "collection." Any watch you'd like - for variety's sake, but if any better choice of Rolex would go for it.....What would you choose, for your lifestyle, to go with the Explorer?

Preferably something with a date, but at minimum, something with a useful complication- either a GMT or a chronograph

Submariner Date for a ceramic bezel and different bezel markings. I would also go TT for some variety.

With my lifestyle I’d grab a GMT. Great travel watch, classic look, and a good complement to the Explorer. For variety I’d buy the CHNR.

Sub or Speedmaster. Those two, plus my 36mm Explorer, are my most-worn pieces.

SubC or GMT? my advice is just buy what you love...I wouldn’t worry much about much else. You can wear any Rolex with anything from a wardrobe standpoint.

FWIW,
My son received an Explorer for his Graduation a couple of years ago (Which he LOVES). He has been saving up to purchase a GMT as a counterbalance to the EXP. |

I would be leaning toward a DD36 or a TT Sub.
I also happen to own those two watches so I am biased! |

I’m partial to to these two being paired with an Explorer.

I went with this. The bracelet plus a couple of quick change leather straps makes it very versatile.

I have a 14060M. It's similar to an Explorer in the way that it lacks a date. I added a 16570 polar. With the white dial, date and GMT complication, it's a killer duo.

How about both Explorer 114270 & a 16570? both can be worn on a dressy or sporty occasion : )

Lots of folks pair a Rolex with an Omega Speedmaster. Lots of choices in the Speedy lineup. Diversifies your collection with a chronograph, and the prices for Speedmasters are waaaaay less than the price for a Daytona. Speedys are ubiquitous and always available too.

for my life style, the GMT has been the most useful watch in my collection. I have literally traveled the world with it. I have kept the green hand on CST at all times. Good luck with your pick.

I think the Explorer references are the best thing going.

something with second time zone if you need it: explorer ii or gmt master......
