Hello all.. I called into my local AD last week to look at a pair of Omega smp; Gents 2254 50 Ladies 2284 50. I was quoted a rrp of £1300 for the gents and £975 for the ladies. I left the shop thinking i will ring in a week and haggle. I contacted them today to be told there has been a price increase and the ladies has gone up to £1040 whats all that about then????

Omega have just put up their prices - I noticed when window shopping yesterday. Looks like the VAT reduction cancelled out.

Yep Omega have just put their prices up. Maybe the dealer as you looked at it last week will honour the old price. I looked at the same model gents Seamaster a few weeks ago in a Goldsmiths AD and was offered it at £1100, I am sure I could have got a few more pounds off. If you are buying both make sure you get discount, if they won't shop around at another AD

It was a goldsmiths, I was going to purchase with teso vouchers so I wasnt expecting a discount but having saved £2275 for a couple of years,(and beleive me to save that many vouchers is hard work) I had just about enough to cover it. Then they said the ladies had gone up £65 and now the gents £95. I will probably buy gray market and save £500 or so

I'm sure jdc is right. If you did actually look at 'in stock' watches - theres a good chance they were bought in before price rise and therefore dealer should honour pre rise price.
Buying grey is cheaper but having saved for so long - an AD purchase is trouble free. I've been saving vouchers too but only up to £100 but every little helps. |
