Wet test for Rolex >>>>

This is from a post by Major Kjell, a master watchmaker in Norway on how a Rolex is properly tested for water seal. =) maverick

"With the "wet test" Jul 23, 2006 - 05:26 PM

Air bubbles would come out of the case.

It works like this:

With the watch ABOVE the water, pressure is applied and the water is left there for a period of time. If the case is tight, nothing happens. If the case leaks, pressure builds up inside the case.

The watch is lowered into the water. The pressure is SLOWLY released. If there is over pressure inside the case because of leaking, the excess air will come out and form a stream of air bubbles in the water. If tight, nothing happens."

If you release the pressure too fast, and the case was not tight, the crystal will pop off."

JJ,
I heard that you have a similar type of pressure testing. Everytime that they put you in the bathtub, they see bubbles coming out from behind you
