Question about Submariner serial number
Hello All,
Just had a quick question regarding the serial number on a submariner. I recently purchased a submariner and I noticed the serial number was Z______..now how can I tell when it was made? Also, where on the watch can I find the serial number etched in? |

Good luck with the new sub. What type did you purchase? Was it a SS, TT or Gold? I believe the Z series serial numbers are the newest series, and began in 2006. The serial number can be found if you removed the band, between the lugs at the 6 o'clock position on the watch. If you purchased the watch from an authorized dealer, don't worry, the serial number will be there and there's no need to remove the band.
If you didn't purchase the watch from an AD, you may want to check to make sure all the numbers on the paperwork and the watch match up. Regardless, wear the watch in good health. |

What Doc just said. The Z-series is the very, very latest, hot off the press, straight out of the oven.....too hot to handle.... Lucky you, you do have the very latest one. Probably made in May or June of this year. As Doc said, if it's from an AD, no worries. Try and post some pics if you can. Thanks - JJ
