116233 fake or geniune dial?
Hi all,
Looking forward to buying my first Rolex to celebrate a special occasion and one day pass on to my 6m old son. Budget wise it has to be a pre-owned so also have been looking online. I came across a nice watch but I am not sure if the dial is original. My gut says it's not original, especially because I can't find a lot of other DJ's with this dial, but the seller claims it is an original dial. Therefore my hope is on the members here...could you let me know if this is original or not? And if it is original could you share some sources/references? Many thanks!! The picture isnt clear enough. But the dial printing looks off to my untrained eye

Thanks Wombat! It is the clearest picture I can get my hand on. The pattern on the dial is also one I have never seen before.

Thanks antrolexsub for your reply. Do you by any means have any reference / source where I can find another DJ with this dial (can also be another colour)? I have been searching for days but couldn't find one. Would be great if you could help me with this!
Thanks again. |

This is a genuine dial, though I think quite rare and indeed striking when seen in person.
I sold one a little while ago and hope that (as it is no longer available) I may link to it here without causing a problem. I took a nice macro image of the dial that can be clicked on to enlarge further : https://www.miltonaires.com/product/7150 Insta : haywood_milton_rolex

Yes, it is real. I wouldn’t go as far as to say “rare” (hate that word in watches as way overused) but it is an uncommon style. Nonetheless, it is a real dial. The watch, can’t say for sure with just one pic but the dial is an authentic style made by Rolex, seen it before.

Many thanks all! Really appreciate your feedback, great to see that the community is here to help.
I really like the watch but completely forgot about the import taxes if I want to import it from the States into the EU. Think I have to let it slip since this is about 25% additional costs. It's a bummer because for the rest this checked nearly all the boxes on my whislist. Only thing missing is the roulette date. Better luck next time. |
