1971 datejust needing restored, help
Hi all, im new to the site and just purchased a 1971 Rolex 1601 datejust, it has gold bezel and trim on the band, it runs perfect but has been worn by previous owner for 49 years, where should I send it for restoration and what can i expect for a cost, Im no watch expert but would think it will need new crystal, face plate and such and polished up.
Thanks: Skip |

Welcome to the forum.
NO one here is going to be able to accurately answer your question as to a dollar amount to restore your watch. Only a Rolex Service Center or other qualified independent Rolex service facility will be able to answer that with a real estimate after they open it and do a comprehensive evaluation. WHERE to have it done? Oh jeesh, there are SOooo many good places from which to choose . . ..

Welcome.
We know some great watchmakers on both sides of the US, and even some in other parts of the world.

Welcome!
Plenty of places you could send it to, Rolex service center would get my vote. Older models are a little pricier to repair, it is not uncommon to cost over $1000 for a service on a 4-digit watch. |
