Great watch, the gilt and green go well together. My only gripe is there isn’t any on-the-fly adjustment (easy link, t-fit, glidelock, etc) on this model or a few others from Tudor.

Out of interest, what was the original price when it was first introduced?

One data point - in March of 2021 it was £2,840.

3550GBP > USD4,049, an arbitrage can be made!

Hey folks,

I was on vacation in London last month, and purchased a Harrods BB at their store (walk-in) -- and had it shipped back to me in the US.

Just sharing a few details, incase anyone is interested as compared to buying online in the US.

The sales person in Harrods said they had 8 in stock on that particular day in the store. The Numbered Edition of the one I purchased was #141xx

The UK list price (including UK VAT) was £3,550. With 20% UK VAT removed (for export), the actual invoice-price for the watch was £2,958.33. Shipping via DHL was an additional £25.

When the watch arrived in the US (Los Angeles), DHL acted as the Customs Broker. I had to breakdown the total value by component. For more background how that works, see:

https://valueyourwatch.com/the-ultim...es-to-the-usa/

Honestly, I didn't know how to break that out, so I just SWAG'ed it and allocated the invoice-price as follows (converted to USD):
  • Movement - 60%
  • Case - 22%
  • Strap (i.e. steel bracelet) - 18%

DHL estimated the Duty/Tax charges at $171. After paying, I received the watch the next day. From arriving into Los Angeles, and me receiving the watch, took a total of 8-days.

All up my total came to about $4045 (including credit card x-change rate fees, import duties, etc.).

Looking on the Harrods site today for someone purchasing online in the US, they initially list it at £3,550 / $4,525, but it ends up being $4,068 + $30 shipping when you put it in your cart - and this includes the US import duties.

So the price for either route is basically the same.

Thanks.

Karl.

PS: As regards why the Harrods BB...

I've been looking at the Pelagos for quite a time (most recently the FXD Black) - mainly because it's one you "should" like. But every time I put one on, it just didn't sing to me (like I wanted it to).

Was in Harrods (as one does), and I knew of the Harrods BB, so I naturally had to try it on.

It's absolutely eff-ing gorgeous in the flesh (to me). Took me all of 30-seconds to make the decision.

I had what was very nice experience at the Tudor AD in Harrods. I could try it on (very important), had it sized, saw that everything was properly packaged and included for shipping (hang tag, bezel protector, etc.) and so on.
...
