Bob I could be completely wrong, but I had a conversation with some folks at Blancpain that seemed to have this expectation. Hope Springs eternal. What can I say, I’m an optimist!

I heard the same, hoping for a 43mm ti version. The 40mm watches were always a little shortchanged with the movement, 43mm with the full fat 1315 would be awesome.

I am quite certain (from Blancpain support) they are releasing more straps to support the 42 mm release. This would support the idea of a regular production or at least more releases with that case size. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I just received this morning my preorder certificate for the Act 1 anniversary FF. They also mentioned in the email that it will be mailed as well.
Can't wait to receive the timepiece. :) Sent from my SM-S908W using Tapatalk |

It’s all speculation, but since we have at least two decades of historical behavior as a guide, I’m not inclined to believe they’ve suddenly made a massive pivot in their strategy. |

Congrats. I’m also looking forward to it. I’m mulling over whether to keep both this and my OC3, or keep one and move one on. Will see how they wear. |

A bit of an update from those waiting on the Act 1. Was in the Las Vegas Caesar's Forum Shops boutique (they had an Act II Tech Gombessa to try on) the sales rep said the Act I would arrive "closer to 6 months" from the arrival of the certificates/deposits. So perhaps ready for some summer diving.

Do you think they would ever release a regular production, non special edition, FF (not Bathyscaph) in SS with a display case back? Love the display case backs, but like the feel of SS.

Only my personal opinion here and I have no inside information, but Blancpain makes 10,000 watches a year! If they dropped a 40mm FF they'd have demand over 10 times maybe 50 times that. You can't ramp up production like that for such a product. Supply issue indeed.

They just got my hopes up when I missed a FedEx delivery from BPLV that required an “adult signature.” I rearranged my schedule today, had to show ID and sign for a package that contained… Not my FF, but a printed copy of the preorder cert they already emailed, and their BP Lettres magazine. Seriously?!? |

An update... Today I received an email from Blancpain saying that the 70th anniversary FF is being assembled and that it should be shipped as planned.
They included some nice pictures as well. Here is the email... "We wish to thank you once again for your order of the Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 1 limited edition. As announced in January, the 210 timepieces were expected to be delivered within 4 to 6 months. We are pleased to reconfirm that our watchmakers are fully committed to delivering on this promise. During these 4 months since your pre-order in January, the movements, cases, dials, hands and all other parts and components have been manufactured in our facilities. We are currently in the final assembly process and are delighted to share an exclusive sneak peek of our T2 workshops where dial and hands are meticulously assembled on the movement before the latter is introduced into the watch case. The oscillating weight is then fixed and the case sealed. Each timepiece will then be submitted to Blancpain's series of strict tests and controls before reaching our T3 workshop where the strap will be installed and the watch prepared for shipment. We expect the timepieces to be ready for shipment in the next few weeks and wish to make sure our delivery service is as flawless as possible........ Sent from my SM-S908W using Tapatalk |

What’s the chance of Act 3 to be the reissued of original FF? In 40mm?
I know BP reserves the 40mm size for their special editions. I scooped up a Barakuda and loves it. Simply can’t pull off over 40. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Where the heck is act 3? This has been a rather confusing rollout.

Great pic! The Barakuda is the only other FF I’d replace my Hodinkee MilSpec with. I had the new No Rad but didn’t care for the color. The Barakuda is more subdued vs the No Rad, which I like. |
