A few surprising production figures for those interested.

Thank you for posting this for us! It's really interesting. I'd love to see these volumes divided into the number of years each model was in production, in order to translate them into per-year quantities.
I am actually surprised that out of the million-plus-per year total Rolex production, Sub volumes are much lower than I expected. For example, approx 15k / year no-date Subs on average, that surprises me how low that is. Also surprised that the proportion of green Sub Dates is more than half the number of black Sub Dates.....I would have guessed the greens were more limited production. Thanks again for posting -- my book is on order from Amazon, and not expected until early November. Cheers! Quote:

Agreed, LV figures seem so high compared to LN. Another number that took me off guard, the current Sea-Dweller 126600 or the DSSD 126660. Always thought these were very low production references. |

Only around 5,000 Submariner 5513s per year assuming 30-years production.

116600 SD4k 27k produced. Definitely a sleeper.

the new sub LB yearly production seems much higher than older ones. 104k watches in 3 year (around 35k per year) vs around 22k for hulk and around 18k per year for kermit.
One reason could be the increase in total production numbers, perhaps another could be becuase rolex is genuinely trying to produce a bit more based on higher demand (to manage the hype)? Quote:

27k might be relatively lower but still a large numbers. My view would be that with such large numbers it is unlikely to shoot up significantly in price. Now if it were a few thousands, it would have been a different game.

Guys, if you are a sub purist, I’d recommend paying the premium for the silk version. It is gorgeous!

There are but SIX for sale within the UK alone. Compare that to hundreds of Subs.

Is the 116600 really top heavy? I'm after a Sub 124060, but do admit this is an impressive reference and caught my attention. |

Was just going to post the same! Very interesting! Perhaps not surprising - I rarely see them out in the wild!
