I had my 2017 116719BLRO in for service at the Dallas RSC 2 yrs ago, and had to wait for ~4 months to get the watch back. When asked their mgmt about the reason for such delay, she mentioned "something related to unusually long leadtime from Geneva for the BLRO bezel'

Did you have to pay extra for the jubilee?

2024 will bring the redesigned BLRO (similar to the 116500 Daytona) and will make the prices of current gen BLRO plummet.

If this was the case I don't get how grey market pricing is still hovering at ~20-21k USD

I hope so, then I can finally bring myself to go grey and buy one.

Based on pure speculation .. Many think that BLRO will discontinue completely while in reality it will only discontinue in favor of a redesign ..

I hate to do the old "my AD said" thing, but I had a catch-up meeting with a very senior guy at the AD group I've used for years the other day - I've known this guy personally for over 20 years - and he said the BLRO hasn't been discontinued and there are no plans for it to be discontinued. However, he said the numbers they've been receiving as a group are down to around 25% of what they were seeing before, and when he was recently over in Geneva, Rolex told him to expect even less in future for at least the next year. However, he also said (and this confirms some of the comments in this thread) that Rolex have not been happy with the BLRO bezel for some time (the colours and the difficulty of production) and are intending to "perfect it" so they can increase supply again in late 2024/early 2025. No info on numbers or percentages compared to now or previously.

I know there's always huge scepticism towards any "my AD said" information, but that was my conservation - take from it what you will.

Thanks for posting this as this was the conversation I had with Boutique owner and I too am very hesitant to post feedback I get due to the (understandable) pushback with rumors.
I had a more pressing need to get a sense of what’s really going on as I was in line for a BLRO since March (a bit more of a commitment than wait list) and wanted to know one way or another whether to look at something else.
Picking my BLRO up tomorrow with some insight into the situation.
Also, if interested in Jubilee the wait will be even longer…will post incoming when it’s on the wrist

I highly doubt they will, in 2023 they introduced 2 new models, 2 tone and full gold with Jubilee. The year before, Rolex introduced the lefty gmt.

Current gen was already updated with latest caliber and a few refinements have found their way such as AR coating, bracelet variations...etc If Pepsi is discontinued, a Coke will fill the fridge.

Agreed, current gen is already the best in terms of proportions. Why would they suddenly drop just because of a redesign. That makes no sense.

Exactly. A good example is nothing happend to the 40mm 116610 when the larger 41mm 126610 came out.

On the Moda Watch Club Facebook group there were fairly routine postings for BLROs. Now they seem to have dried up. The sellers there are 99% grey dealers, so it seems like they're not getting BLROs like they used to. At least that's the way it appears.

Prices (in the secondary market) of the meteorite GMT are not increasing as one would expect if there was credible intelligence of the model's impending cancelation.

Picked mine up on Friday. They are being shipped to ADs but in very limited quantities. More Oyster than Jubilee and a bracelet swap while possible is a long wait (I asked).

I was only interested in Jubilee and they said if they couldn’t get this I could have the oyster and wait for swap. I got really lucky!

Would never make a definitive statement on Rolex’ plans but my understanding is they will continue to be available in current configuration…not gonna lie, the rumors made me nervous…

I got a Pepsi a few days.

My AD suggested last month that I grab the next one they receive as they also believe that it will be discontinued.

She mentioned that they don’t think they will see another one for a long time, if ever again.

I’ve had 4 ADs tell me in recent months about the bezel issue. All unsolicited remarks. They said they got the info from Rolex. At this point I’ll say it’s no longer a rumour.

Not sure this will be totally true, a big one like Rolex company can not easily run out of stock and if that happens at I believe it will be sorted out.

Hi,
Any update on this topic? Anyone has received or heard new Pepsis in 2024? Any news about production issues are solved?

I currently have a similar problem. Went to Rolex UK for a new crystal due to being scratched bt the wife diamond ring. Came back to me with two cracks in the bezel. Off to Rolex again, told 6 weeks but expecting an awful lot longer

What do they charge for a new bezel? I’ve always been curious. Thankfully no issues with mine yet!
