I really like this watch especially with the black face. I tried this and a subc on the other day at my AD and I was torn. I really want something new and its between the two. Problem is I think I would always have buyers remorse if I didnt get the sub even though this will be rarer in the wild.

Just picked one up (black dial) from my AD - very nice watch! Had the option of going for a new Sub ND ceramic but the Explorer won it! Woudl probably look pretty good on a black NATO or even black with orange stripe!

I am on the hunt for a polar. Went to an AD today (only had black but could get me a polar) but no discount at all. I like the size and fit. Will go perfectly with my GMT 2 c. I will have to keep looking for one at the right price.

I think the Polar EXP II is really beautiful....porcelain-like dial that conjures in my mind the clean and cool arctic . Very distinctive sports Rolex given all the black Subs and GMTs.

As has been mentioned, the EXP II is the best balanced Rolex sport model IMO...tapered lugs (i.e. not fat) and the hour markers, despite the maxi treatment, DO NOT LOOK CRAMPED like the other sport models; the larger dial accomodates the maxi treatment on the markers. Really an excellent watch.

Don't know how I missed this thread, but my Exp II just celebrated it's one month anniversary on my wrist...please excuse the protective plastics on the bezel and my hairy arm.

Tried it and learned that my right wrist is marginally larger than the left. In any case, I feel the need for a white face EXP II to complement my black GMT II - I'll go looking tomorrow.

i would love to get a black dial explorer 2, but im just to worried that it would look out of place on my small wrist.
