hi, rolexwatcher kindly suggested i ask for help here. Hi, new member from the Philippines here. Hope this is the right place to ask this.

I recently inherited my mom's rolex when she passed away. She was the first owner, and I think my dad bought it for her as a newlywed gift in the late 70s. It's a yellow gold lady datejust, with a yellow gold face.

The thing is, the gold bracelet is a bit tight for me (my mom had tiny wrists), and I'd actually prefer a real rolex leather strap, because the bracelet is a bit too bling-y for me (so.much.yellow.). Unfortunately, I can't seem to find one anywhere.
- I've been to many, many accredited rolex dealers here - none sell original leather straps for my watch.
- I called the head office of Rolex here in Manila, and they said that they would *try* to look for one for me, but it would take a minimum of 6 months (!), because they'd have to call the HK office, and then the HK office would contact the Swiss office (??) and they can't just sell me a new leather strap because of something about slight difference in size over the years. Plus, it will cost about PHP18,000 (equivalent of USD 420.00).
- tried googling, but all I can seem to find are websites that sell fake straps.

Can anybody point me in the right direction? Somewhere where I don't have to wait a minimum of 6 months? Plus, is around the USD 420 ballpark the right price for rolex leather straps? Many thanks for any tips. :)

Oscar, I lived in Quezon City before in Project 8. My grandparents came from China and settled in Cabanatuan, where my dad was born. Eventually, my parents settled in Banawe St in QC, and moved to Project 8.

My grand parents believe it or not, immigrated from Manila to Florida (Dade City).

I just visited Florida this past May, went to Orlando, Tampa and Dade City. I'm planning to go back to FL in Jan, 2013 for a cruise.

I grew up on Wacat St. in LaLoma, QC until age 10. I know exactly where Banawe St. is. I went to Emilio Jacinto HS for kindergarten, Siena College for 2 yrs of years elementary, a tr at Letran for mid school, then to the US in 1967.

I studied in Grace Christian High School from kindergarten up to HS yr 2, then in 1986 immigrated to Canada.

My brother went back two years ago and showed photos of our old apartments. Brought back memories.
