I'm absolutely loving it more than I thought I would... I have never been a fan of quartz so much, but I am intrigued by Eco Drive... the watch style suits my tastes well, 38mm, very thin case (4.7mm), no numerals, and NO DATE. I like that there is no seconds hand on this model with the tick tick reminding me that it's quartz.

Accuracy +/- 20 seconds per month, 6 month power reserve on a full charge... the watch is constantly being charged in daylight or artificial light.

My only complaint would be the strap, which is cheap feeling, but the plus side is it's a perfect size... the tail doesn't stick out too little or too much. Oh and 19mm. It will be tricky finding a strap of higher quality but not so thick as to over power the case size.

Put it back on the SS bracelet which was so insanely annoyingly hard to do that I almost cried but now that it's back on the wrist I look down and can't stay mad

There's something about the tech that just makes a mockery of our love of mechanicals. Perpetual power, perpetually accurate... it seems like the future and looks like a classic.

What is the reference number of your model?

So which do you prefer? Hand-wound or automatic? (Owning a GS45 I've been on the fence about a GS61 for a while.)

I've always loved hand-wound more; I don't think I'll ever change in that preference. But, I can appreciate why many love automatics.

Many might consider it a nuisance to manually wind a watch each morning, but I love it; it gives me a sense of connection to my watch. I also love the tactile feel and mechanical sound of winding a watch by turn of the crown. Ancillary benefit is they are generally thinner than automatics and you can better see the movement (although that's not a consideration here with the closed casebacks).

All that said, I love the GS61 and would highly recommend it. The build quality and finishing are spectacular and the movement has been astonishingly accurate and reliable (although the sample size here is small since I just acquired it). I'm also pretty lazy and have found the ease of quick setting the day and date to be a very big benefit.

AR3070-04L Eco-Drive (Stiletto).

Inexpensive (I guess that's relative) and they have variious dials, and one with a bracelet, but I like this watch on a strap better, again with plans to find a better one for it.
