Does anyone here actually prefer the 4500 to the 4520? I’m not able to see them side by side but the 4500 heavier bracelet is amazing.

I prefer 4500.
Mainly because of the rotor (the new one of 4520 seems less complex and has no empty spaces near the center). The new slightly tapered bracelet on 4520 is nice but I believe that the old one is also good and more in line with the watch look. Also, there was a croco strap on 4500, now is calf on 4520.
As regards the cases these are, in practice, the same.
Of course both versions remain fantastic.

If anyone has the opportunity to do a side by side of the 4500 and 4520 we’d appreciate it. Movement, bracelet, case and other pics/videos. Would love to see it.

I haven't seen the new one in person, but I believe the changes are going to be very subtle. I think it will be the most impactful for those with sub 6.75 inch wrists.

I just picked up the new 7920v. The case seems to be much better proportioned. I have owned a 4500v and a 5500v and previously had tried on the dual time. It fits extremely well on my 7 inch wrist. I enjoy the fit exponentially over the previous two.

Some interesting things on this. The new modifications to new Overseas line requires the old deployment clasp to use your old straps but they will work on the new watch itself. Don't try to unbolt the new clasp like I did and screw it up to try to work on the new style straps, it's a different attachment system.

As you can see mine also came with a RED rubber strap and not a black one.

The thickness of the 4500 and 4520 is practically the same, from this perspective no difference on wrist check.
But on Chrono and Dual Time, the thickness is reduced by more than 1 mm. If you came from the previous dual time, you may perceive the new one is less massive indeed (compliments for the 7920 you posted, it fits perfectly your wrist but it would be useful also a side picture, because the front is not changing).

It came with a red strap? Was it because you have already had black straps from other references?

Would love some comments on the thickness. Perhaps a side picture comparing 5500v vs 7920v!

Dual time comes only with red rubber now, along with bracelet and calf of course. Maybe they had an accident at the strap factory and went overboard on red?

No it just came with a red strap with this model reference. It almost seems when my AD called out the reference their maybe two for the black dial dual time. One with red and perhaps one without.

Eventually they will update their website and we will find out.

I tried to order the black strap but right now they don't even have info for these new straps.

I think it was just a bit of a rolling change of some specs. Don’t believe there were any announcements made. Updated specs such as more thin now. Everything looks basically the same on the website, from what I understand, except a couple specs here and there.

Can anyone here tell me how the VC 47040 wears on a smaller wrist? I had, loved, and sold a smaller 42052, I’m curious if the next generation would wear like a dinner plate on a 6.5” wrist

Why are some of the Overseas chrono on the website with the updated specs (thinner case) and some are not (thicker case)? I would imagine they’ve all been updated as opposed to just some of them within that model line.

How difficult is it to acquire the 222 from a boutique these days? I only have one VC (RG 4500v) and thought the 222 would be a few more pieces away, but my SA recently reached out and said they may be able to get me one soonish.

By comparison, my SA told me it would be around a year wait on a 4300v skeleton.

I put my name on the list via the e-boutique when the 222 was first announced. I had no prior purchase history but wasn’t told it wasn’t possible to get one but it might take a while. I recently took my name off due to a combination of lack of funds, the price increase on the 222 and hoping for the steel one when it comes out. That being said I’ve heard a lot more people getting offered it and turning it down which might mean a better chance of you getting one. It’s a stunning watch and I wish I had one myself but I think with the overall cost and the current economy people are being a little more careful with their upcoming watch purchases.

It's a piece for $50k+ accounts which you meet.

Perpetual is $100k+ which would come next if you buy the 222.

I know someone in NYC who got a 222 with no purchase history. So YMMV.

YMMV is the key takeaway there.

Clearly Overseas is moving to a more sleeker look with lower case height and a bracelet which is both thinner and tapers to be fairly narrow on the clasp side.

I can see that this would be more appealing to most, as its more inline with the other more popular brands. But personally I quite liked that the VCO was a more heavy and chunky watch. When I put my VCO Chrono next to a Daytona the Daytona looks like a baby watch, now they move the watch closer to a Daytona. Probably good for sales but not what I was looking for in this watch, if I want a super sleek Chrono I buy the Daytona instead..

Hi guys,

Have been a silent viewer of the wonderful posts in this community and recently purchased a 4520V (blue dial!)

Have a couple of questions that I hope you guys could help me out with:

1) my warranty card has a handwritten (by the boutique) date of purchase. Just wondering how the VC warranty registration website captures the date of purchase? Is the warranty card scanned by the boutique upon purchase?

2) any indications on accuracy you guys can share (4500V as well)? I’m currently getting -6s/day. Might need to break in though as my watch is new.

Thanks so much!
Cheers.

I’d get the old one. That’s a great price and the differences are minimal.

You need to go online and register to get the 8 year warranty.

Try resting dial up at night (or dial down with the bracelet being what it is).

Thanks for the advice on the night resting position, will try it.

On the warranty question, what I meant was that when I register online, the date of purchase was already recognized in the system without any input from me. Hence just wanted to check/confirm that upon purchase, the boutique will ‘submit’ the sale date of a particular watch and hence the warranty registration website would have the original purchase date of that particular watch?

Thanks in advance!
