I assure you my post was geared towards sarcasm not humor. You're probably not married to a difficult-to-please significant other (like I am), but sarcasm isn't meant to be funny.

More concepts in the 42mm range would really be great. Even better if they go smaller than that.

Would be an over-hyped release if so. Am hoping for something innovative but more accesible than a concept.

Some kind of Schumi Concept laptimer in a new case will be a dream... loved the times AP was more about cars and places than coke sniffing instagram influencers.

Heard the same too and will be the final release for the year before they gear up for the 150th year anniversary next year.

Thanks for the intel. You were right about the concept so hopefully 2/2 with the dual time

No prob. Dual time is a small part of the releases. Save your coin, there is so much more to come for 150th.

I have never been a fan of the carbon in the past watches, I just felt like it looks dirty

First live wristshot... what can I say... it is JC Biver birthday today... looks like AP made a hublotesque present for him...

From a pure manufacturing standpoint this is pretty cool.

That said, this strikes me as yet another recent release that is too chunky, too expensive and slated to be worn by a certain clientele in night clubs with strobe and black UV lighting while "poppin' bottles with models"

You’ve summarized one of the big problems with modern AP. All of these watches are technically very interesting but built for people who could care less about the craftsmanship required.

you summed up exactly why i am loosing interest in ap. they are moving away from horology to more pop culture; something i thought the illaria would steer from francois reign.

as both ap and america ceo's are both female and both coming from a cosmetic/beauty background i see ap turning more into a pop fashion brand to compliment the likes of hermes; especially the female clientele with birkins and kellys to match.

I think this is a very concise and spot on take. Love the watches, brand direction is not headed where I’d want.

I will reserve judgment until i have seen it, but my sense is that I would prefer the existing model just with a ceramic bezel (which is what I thought was coming).

We shall see.

Dual time is definitely being worked on, but got strong vibes that it’s a couple of years out. Didn’t quiz for specifics as I didn’t want to take advantage of candor.

Next year’s 150 will unveil a really cool perp calendar, but I guess that’s the worst kept secret.

Dark /navy blue ceramic RO perp calendar likely in 2026. Also a worst kept secret given FHB’s recent interview with hodinkee (I believe). Heard it looks absolutely stunning, which I can imagine.

The new concept is pretty cool. The blue is striking and looks great, but the incumbent gray titanium has got an understated charm to it. Not my cup of tea overall, but the play with materials is ingenious imho. It’s just wayyyy too big for me.

Hope the new perpetual will be just crown operated and they get rid of the wrong 52 week indicator... or because there is no chance to get it back to 39 or some new 40mm size make it proper 53 week...

I just saw yesterday that 26574st was discon. So, no steel Royal Oak QP available now and buyers have to pay hefty price for PM only.

Got similar vibes from the folks at the event. I'm glad a dual time is in the works but looks like we got to wait a while.

AP flew a couple of their "project managers" down from Switzerland, those guys are extremely passionate about their craft and can really geek out with you about the timepieces. Especially the ones they've worked on. They seemed to be very emotionally invested in the brand/their work and empowered to exercise their creative judgement, and they give a lot of credit to the overall internal firm culture and FHB's man management skills. A cynic would say that the AP reps are well rehearsed/scripted, but I do sense it's coming from a genuine part of them.

On FHB, apparently a really institutional leader, remembers details (numbers, profitability, all that good stuff) down to a tee. Terse in his email correspondence, but does the little things like right. e.g. remembering/acknowledging the good idea you had years ago that made it into the catalogue. There's clearly a material positive effect he has had on the internal AP culture/ethos.

Apologies on rambling on about non-product related snippets.

Next year should be fun. The reps from AP are struggling to keep their excitement in.

Thanks. One of the great things about this forum is the intel and insight we get from folks that are fortunate enough to attend these events/have these relationships. It’s much appreciated

Thanks mate.
I made a conscious effort to not ask about the new leadership. Fact is, no one in AP will know for sure and time will tell. It’s not easy to live in the shadow of the old administration, like FHB and Friedman etc. Most importantly, I didn’t want to put any of the reps on the spot.

What’s incontrovertible is the excitement for the upcoming launches. I’m sure they’ll release curveballs that some will be up in arms on.

Just visited the Tokyo house today. Didn’t learn too much about upcoming releases, but was told 150th anniversary will be a relatively big deal (like a “festival”) compared to the “modest” celebration for RO 50th.

Second piece unique for Tom Brady. More subtle then his gross tourbillon. As special features this grand complication have his jersey number 12 and birthday month august in red color.
