A few months after that my wife got a Cartier Santos and without asking they gave me a 15% discount off retail. I've honestly never seen nor heard of them selling any watches above retail. I do hear a lot of complaints though about all the hot models being hard to get, but that is pretty much the same everywhere you go.

I've read the same news as everyone else but I'm really not sure what the charging over retail part is about and I was never asked to bundle or buy anything I didn't want, and in fact when I asked if I needed to buy less popular models to build history they told me no and to just be patient and wait. Of course that absolutely could mean I'll never get the next watch, or the sales person I'm dealing with is one of the better ones, so take it for what it's worth. This is just my own personal experience.
That sounds pretty amazing. Would you mind letting me know who's your usual AD? I'd love to get in contact with them. (I'll obviously leave out the fact I was referred by 'ButtButt')

early 2022, you went in as a walk in (after purchasing a blnr years ago), waited 2 weeks for a patek?
what patek?

in 2022, 15% off cartier? doubt
in 2018-2019 yes i believe.

i was a cortina customer as well, spend 6 figures with them and didn't get jackshit at the raffles city mall outlet.

went over to paragon and complained to another SA, in order to get a rootbeer, i had to bundle a moser pioneer.
that's in 2019, before covid.

cortina used to charge above retail before Rolex send that letter.

lol, i have problems with that stupid AD.

I bundled a sub date 126610ln with 2x IWC Mark Pilot
so i decided to sell my 116610ln i got from the grey market

they actually went thru fb grps and carousell, checking for flippers, linked it back to me.
ask why am i selling the sub date they have allocated to me?

first, you didn't allocate me shit, it was a bundled purchase.
secondly, get your internet scouting team to get familiarised with rolex reference numbers and open their damn eyes.
I gave the SA a piece of my mind and told them they just lost me as a customer, i don't give a fk if they have banned me.

dumb AD, dumb staffs. good riddance

Yup, 5172G. I believe I posted about it here quite a bit during the time, I got laughed out of one AD and never heard back from the rest, but somehow Cortina delivered it.

Don't know what to say about the Cartier discount if you don't believe it.

Just sharing my experience with them, I haven't been able to get anything since then though lol (although I did turn down a 5320G with the salmon dial which I never asked for).

Watch Society on YouTube was discussing the softening of the market as told to him by his grey market dealer friends in his latest video. He is based out of Dubai so another anecdote we can reference.

I expected 37mm and 41mm RO's to settle at retail+tax by late this year. maybe small 5-10% premium on top, but that's it.

Funny. I keep trying to find a 116519LN and am offering decent money but everyone thinks they are worth >$40k. I'll just keep on waiting

Walk into a botique. Buy a code 1159 base and put your name down. You'll be shocked how quickly you get a call.

And it was sold for 28k. Nobody bid after 28. Thats tells you something. People are tired of exorbitant mark up

Maybe the person who bidded for 28k is their own guy. This price is already crazy

Still, 28k is still a pretty decent markup above RRP
