Titanium. Titanium pieces have sandblasted texturing between the polished components of the bezel.

I doubt I'll ever be in a position to purchase a VC, but it seems the abilty to hack seconds is a universal feature that allow more accurate time keeping. On a watch so well constructed (much like FP Journe), it seems strange this feature is omitted.

Is it representative of more sophistication or perhaps an ode to traditionalism?

I'd like to know more.
Hacking has got to be the most over-rated feature on any mechanical watch. The finest movements in the world can lose/gain a second or more every day or two. So, any hack is virtually immediately lost.

Many high-end timepieces lack the hacking feature, including VCs. Doesn't bother me at all.

Just got my 2018 Overseas back from a full service from the VC Boutique in Manhattan. (No polishing).

After six years it had started to lose about 15 seconds a day. Even though it was out of warranty, they comp'd the service. Nice.

Yes, indeed, although it took forever.

Dropped off May 24 ....... Ready for pick up Aug. 13. Hard to complain about the wait when I saved about $1K for an out-of-warranty service.

Looks fantastic! Glad to get that back I’d bet.

I traded for mine, received it new but outside of regular warranty. It was running slow and needed a link so I sent it in for service. Same deal with me, took 16 weeks but was returned complimentary plus the link fee. I was really surprised and each step along the process was professional and very pleasant. Came back in a nice little travel pouch to boot.

Incredible colour and one of the best photos I’ve seen of it. Beautiful.

Right now, this is the one I’d choose as my retirement gift to myself. Though I have a few years to go and reserve the right to change my mind…

Many thanks! One thing to keep in mind about the color is that the newer dials don't look quite like mine. They're a darker sunburst as opposed to the pre-2021 brighter lacquer dials that also have turquoise highlights that the newer dials lack.

Both dials are stunning, of course, but there's something more magical about the earlier dials, IMHO. (I've owned both variations.)

Nice VC trio.

Here the “family photo” of my 3 VCs in my collection. Funny how they are all different from your 3 but the two trio are also very similar…

Both of these VC trios are so good! Love to see the diversity within the brand.

Your dial is amazing. I have a 2022 7900v blue and it usually looks more electric blue or purple. Was that your observation as well?

The attached shows images my 7900 in comparison with a 2018 and they look quite similar. Seems to depend on the intensity/angle of light. They are all beautiful and yours looks great!

Thanks! My experience is only with the 4500V, but it's extensive. Unlike the newer dials, the older dials have no sunburst and no dark (almost black) highlights. And yes, the newer dials can look almost purple in some light.

Two photos below, albeit in different lighting, show the main differences.

First photo is the older brighter dial with turquoise highlights not found on the newer dials.

Second photo shows a newer dial with the much darker highlights.

The wrist presence is bolder than the other Overseas, not garrish though. Definitely not chunky like a Panerai or Omega. On the strap it hugs the wrist. I find the contrast of the strap more flashy than the bracelet. The bracelet is superb, more slouchy like jewelry.

To me, a Rolex analog for fit would be the DJII smooth bezel.

Looks great! I’m considering the 5500v reverse panda as well but have never tried it on. I Concerned it might be too big. I also have an AP Diver and a Rolex SD43. Would it be similar to those on the bracelet? Or be even larger? Thanks!
