I just noticed that the OP has been banned from the forum. Not sure what to make of that but find it curious.

People get banned here all the time. The mods don’t care about this thread or they would simply delete it.

Regarding the 222 it’s a dog imho. Dainty with a let down movement and nobody cares about VC except people like us and we are smart enough to buy much nicer watches for 80k.

Yea VC only traded above retail recently. 2019 the boutiques were giving 20% discounts

Seems like we're headed back, if not there already. I've been offered a bunch of "Hot" Refs lately from my local boutique and passed on all of them.

VC has corporate owned boutiques? Or you mean AD?

And both were giving discounts even at corporate owned boutiques in 2019?

Yep. I was offered 30% off on a silver 4500V in early December 2019.

Contrast that with struggling to get 8% on a Lange Moonphase the week before at same Richemont boutique.

Royal Oak 15400st black dial sold today for $26.5. APs going down like an absolute anchor.

Everyone has started dumping BLROs today now the price has been hyped up.

Wow that’s crazy. Didn’t know Lange discounted back then too.

34k GBP inc 20% VAT for a 15510 2023 Blue on Watchcollecting. So in USD and and say a 10% sales tax then these should under $40k now.

Shopping on a lazy holiday morning. Thought I'd post a few prices I've seen this morning:

2018 - Blue SkyD with card/full links/white tag (no box) - $19.3k DLVD
2020 - BLRO Meteorite - full set - $48.1K
2016 - Sub-Date 116610LN watch and card - 10.6k DLVD
Scrambled - 116710BLNR - watch only 10.5 links - 12.65k

All these as far as I can see have not been sold or claimed yet.

Scrambled simply means year cannot be identified since there is no warranty card, and rolex started randomizing serial numbers in the 2010s-ish.

Why it matters for some is whether there would be any factory warranty remaining on the watch. In this case there wouldn't be likely any remaining as the 116710BLNR was discontinued around 2018, although it is possible someone could've bought one in 2019/2020 as leftover piece from an AD.

It is now. There was a year or so where you could just join up and they'd accept pretty much anyone. Consequently, there's now 10s of thousands of members which includes a bunch of rookies, heaps of gawkers and a slew of scammers. The group is now invite only, but heaps of scammers still find their way in.

Mine at the boutique was like $66,000 or something with tax.

Don’t feel too bad, I saw what my 6000v (OS steel tourb) is selling for these days. I console myself by saying “at least I bought it before the recent price increase.”

That CDV is really spectacular though…

I would love to hear from anyone in mainland China or Hong Kong regarding local sentiment/mood given the local stock market selloff and lack of Central Bank/Government support, this in addition to the latest property slump could be a huge issue for luxury demand? Intuitively, I would think this would drive down prices in the secondary market significantly, given the size of both the China and HK watch market (per Morgan Stanley's Swiss Watches export data, YTD as of Nov. 2023, Share in %: 10.5% and 8.9%, respectively), but would like to hear from someone local on their thoughts.

Is there a possibility that local China/HK investment sees overseas capital flight due to the local investment/economic headwinds? I have also heard of Government flagging or preventing this type of outflow from the country, is this an issue? If so, perhaps local investors park more into luxury watches (i.e.: seen as safer investments?)?

Again, would love to hear local knowledge or anyone on the forum that has better insight.
