The AD in my hometown said there was a waiting list and that I would be number 9 for this watch. Told them I knew the speech and that I also knew they had one in the back, and would really appreciate it if they sold it to me with no discount. No dice.
Quick phone call to an AD from another city who fortunately had this beauty in stock. I travel to Mexico City frequently on business, so the next time I went directly to the jeweler and got it with a 1.5k dlls discount.
Its been 45 days and I still love looking at it.

Just picked up my first daytona yesterday. Is very different than all other rolex pieces I have owned. Love the beauty of the dial. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1425067144.590026.jpg

Joined the club...

At the ripe old age of 54, I finally bought myself a nice watch. Sadly, the only way I can see its details are in pictures. It was a long journey to get to ownership. After investigating all of the other boutique brands in this price range (e.g. IWC, JLC, Glashutte Original), none matched the reliability and solid build of the Rolex. I walked into Windsor Jewelers across the street from Augusta National Country Club, and they had two SS Daytonas, every version of the GMT Master II, and just about any other Rolex you might want. Paid full retail and received great customer service.

Maybe next will be a TT GMT Master II or a New Cellini Dual Time. It's tough to stop at one.

I don't think they sell pre-owned at that location. They told me their SS Daytona allotment was four black dial and four white dial models each year. They are one of the largest Rolex ADs in the Southeast. They sell pre-owned down the street at their Freidman's store.

Interesting. Thought they'd have a waiting list as long as your arm and when one comes in its already sold.

Was it at retail price or were thry commanding a premium?
