Of course! The guy is a machine! I’m a capitalist.... I think it’s underpriced in this market! And NO ONE is factoring in that his word and reputation are GOLD!

Omg I noticed that as well which prompted me me to go straight to there website to get more familiar with this model as I was thinking it had to be something super duper rare, etc etc and what I saw was a 26-27K watch.

So I have no idea what’s the thought process behind his price.

$40k over list? Don’t get it but whatevs

I did, and for less than that during the two weeks in march that everything went down in price. Got it from DavidSW.

everyone complain about the price but look at the stock market. The price of aapl went from $30 to 112 (plus dividends) accounting for the split. 1.5trn of wealth was generated on one stock but Rolex did not increase production at all. We just saw the most rapid accumulation of wealth in human history.

It is extremely rare actually. It is ALS's version of the Nautilus. They don't produce many of these and I believe it's an allocation piece.

To much going on in the world right now to be moaning about a stand out forum member - people need to accept things have changed drastically in the last 18/24 months.

If you don’t like how ROLEX is doing things buy another brand simple - don’t be getting yourself worked up because you can’t have a watch that tells the time as the one you currently have on your wrist.

Relax

We know prices had gone crazy when we see markup price (10k) is higher than the msrp (6k).

So grey dealers earn more per piece than Rolex itself.

Calm down and the prices will settle in a few weeks/months when early buyers are taken care of and the rest of us will not pay. It is a pattern every year.

DavidSW is the CarMax of the watch world. You can get the same watches cheaper elsewhere but people seem to like the service from him. I have always thought his prices are high but that doesn’t mean he can’t provide a service people will use for convenience.

Potentially, but most likely they paid £10K plus for it.

It's an allocation piece. You cant get one without an AD relationship. I didn't realize they were selling for that much either though...

I have noticed that DSW was selling from the same AD that my watch was from (I bought from another gray). The DSW watch pics were from several years ago and i bought my watch in May of 2019. So it is the same ADs that have been getting away with this for YEARS. It is very easy to figure it out by just doing google image searches and when you consistently have the same ADs listed on the warranty of a brand new watch, it is obvious those are the ones participating in the market manipulation. I have also heard the same story as others, that Rolex is focusing on cracking down etc, I don't believe it and do not think they care, because it is rather easy to figure it out, I was able to by spending 5 minutes just googling the info on my warranty card and searching for images, surprise the first thing that came up was DSW, along with a gray selling on this forum 5+ years ago. They have several sources, but I have noticed a lot of watches coming from places like Caracas etc.

If Rolex really cared, they could figure it out by spending a few hours on eBay looking at the new watches for sale and asking to see the warranty cards. The reality is they do not care. There are local ADs that have been called out on this forum, and they are thriving more than ever. It's funny, 15+ years ago I was selling a bose speaker I had used for a month or so as pre-owned on eBay, Bose contacted eBay within 8 hours to have my listing taken down because they didnt want me reselling my own speaker lol. If we really wanted to we could end this non-sense ourselves. Everyone just go to your local gray dealer, look at as many new SS rolex watches as possible, get pics of the warranty cards and post them online. Guess what, we will see a list that tends to repeat around a select number of stores. Say the repeat offenders are 5-10% of ADs, if you get those to shut down, gray prices will start to correct, and when those prices start to correct, the one off flippers that hit unsuspecting ADs will have less incentive to try to resell, and maybe you'll start to see stainless sport watches in stores again.

Between my friends and myself we have bought dozens of watches from David. Of course he is the first person I think of when I search out a new piece but I am also smart with my money. I research each purchase and have never found anyone to beat his price in comparison.
And yes, his service cant be beat. I can wire him the money at 3pm on Monday and be wearing my new watch before lunch on Tuesday, aside from purchasing local that dont happen.
