Looks great Sheldon, I too enjoyed the education about the dial removal.

That is the bee's knees. Normally I'm not a fan of modding a Rolex but I do like me some red date wheel or seconds hand.

Grats. Beautiful and unique piece.

Installing Red Date Disk on my SD4000

This is truly amazing!
Usually I don't like any changes to a Rolex, but this time it's subtle and very nice!
And of course a great watch too!

Oh and thanks for the great app recommendation

That's a neat mod. If I ever happen to buy a meteorite dial Daytona I would like to swap the red sub dial hands with the blue colored ones

While I like the monochrome aspect of the SD and I wouldn't have done the mod to mine, I have to say that the final result is quite nice. Thanks for sharing those pictures and the procedure, very nice and informative.

Nice post. If you don't mind my asking, what type of movement holder are you using?

Actually, it two different holders. The one pictured is from Rolex. The other one not pictured is a nylon one that helps drop the movement out of the case, and releases the winding stem without having to use a tool to depress the stem button. Both tools only available to Rolex Certified/CW21 technicians (again, its not me who did the work, but my watchmaker... -I just snapped the images)

Ooh didn't think of that. Good one.

Red date disk for now for reasons mentioned above, but interesting concept
