There’s loads of people on this forum I would love to meet in real life for different reasons and Padi’s one of them. I imagine if any of us took a trip to [Wales?] for a beer or two, we would have a very entertaining night out, learn a lot and hear some great stories. For what it’s worth, I’m not a fan of nicknames but I do like the Daytona though no date would annoy me. I agree the “batgirl” is getting cheaper and that premium is hitting the kind of range I’d pay to avoid the faff. It’s a few years inflationary rises which is the waitlist time. But I suppose we’ll never all agree otherwise why would there be a forum to comment and debate. |

I still see the regular dealers on FB thinking it’s still 2021 and trying to sell it at aud25k+. |

Lay off Padi. He’s a grumpy old man, but he’s family around these parts.
I always thought PADI stood for professional association of diving instructors. https://www.padi.com/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I do not have strong feelings one way or another on what they call the various Rolex, but it is a lot easier to remember the nicknames than the model numbers. I can remember the short color references (i.e. VTNR and CHNR) but the nicknames give an easy way to reference the different models. Even the AD's refer to them by the nicknames. My last message from my AD was "you Sprite is in"!

Agree OP. There are tons of recently purchased for sale by the used watch mongers and none are moving at all. I guess they don't even want to sell amongst themselves anymore

I 100% agree some dealers are asking silly prices still, but if wholesale dealers are offering you a certain amount, add ~10-15% and that’s the ‘true’ market value. As they have to have profit cooked in and aren’t dumb to buy knowing they can’t make anything. |

Batgirl markup diminishing
I hate to pour gasoline on the fire, but I could do without the Batgirl nickname. I think it’s the worst one of the bunch.
Maybe it’s because I have the watch, but I just don’t get it. I think it’s a much more masculine watch than the Pepsi. When I wear my GMT BLNR or the Sub, my wife says, “that’s a man’s watch.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It’s ok Krash, we aren’t questioning your masculinity here, I promise.
You are a big, capable man who commands respect! |
