i'm facing a problem as i got my mothers white gold / diamond orchid watch with the no. 463501 assuming its of 1963 where i wish to have more details for it and best method to avaluate it

What is the best way to store an automatic watch? Say if your in favour of one and want to keep other/others stored for a considerable time?

I have heard its best to have the winder fully extended (out)?

Hi, got my first rolex, had it serviced, after 4 months of using it, its still under warranty though, is this usual? don't i get a replacement if it's defective?

Hi,
I wondered if anyone knew how I could purchase a replacement "security clasp" for Bracelet #78200. There is no damage to the watch and it's simple to affix a new one. However, I'm being quoted $475 by one authorized repair shop here in Chicago. I've contacted Rolex on Wilshire and they advised me a new replacement part woudl be $265. I don't feel like paying $200 for for 2 seconds of labor. Does anyone know where/how to obtain this clasp?

As someone who does all his own maintenance or god forbid repairs if need be on my own watches I really like the idea of a tech section for information like questions and answers to the "Nuts & Bolts" side of these watches !

I am a lover of Rolex watches having owned a few. My wife is currently wearing a rolex 2030 that clearly does need a service. I do service watches as a hobby and have recently serviced my 3135. I have inspected the movement & for its age its looks really clean. However my only issue is how to regulate it as this is not a familiar set up I have encountered.I have a microstella tool if needed. Any advise would be most appreciated.

Hi All,
I would like to introduce myself to you all as I’m new to the Rolex forum as I have just perchased a GMT Master 16710n 1999 to my collection of watches, I have a question to ask and I hope you don’t mind.
I brought the watch from a reputable jewellers last Thursday and I have noticed that the hour hand whilst setting the GMT function doesn’t move only the date so it’s impossible to set the time for another time zone, is this problem common on these watches or after reading up about this it could be that the movement isn’t a Rolex 3168? The watch is covered under warranty for a year from the shop I brought it from so I’m covered on that front.
Also if I was to take the watch to a Rolex shop is this something the could fix in the short term without sending it away to Rolex to be serviced as I am currently working on a super yacht and I won’t be returning to the uk until next year.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thank you for your time.

Morning all. As a newbie to the forum, I'm finding it a minefield, with all the abbreviations and nicknames used. Would it be possible to make a sticky, listing all the abbreviations and models nicknames?

Some are easy to guess, like BNIB, but I can't think what a PM is. Thanks to anybody who takes the time to post a meaning to an abbreviation or a nickname.
