I have 6 Omega and 5 Rolex watches. Omega does not fall behind at all, it goes shoulder to shoulder with Rolex.

In my opinion its about 2/3 the quality of Rolex, bracelet is half the quality maybe less, something that belongs on 3kish or so watch, also subjectively and intrinsically Rolex feels 10x better on my wrist. Great watch, well made and fun brand, like the history and presentation is enjoyable when unboxing. I've owned a few but at the end of the day it doesn't give me the special feeling other more expensive watches do.

So value retention, history, name recognition, supply and distribution management - all of these things aside as these are unrelated to the quality.
Just quality - it’s really hard to say. I’ve owned a SMP 300m for over 10 years. The first year it had an issue with winding, sent it in for service under warranty. After that, I’ve never serviced the watch and it’s held perfect time. I checked it a few months back and it was +\- 2 seconds in a day. My DJ holds pretty good time, my Batman surprisingly has been running fast. Like 3 minutes fast after 2-3 weeks. Both my DJ and SMP I beat up a ton, and have been super robust. DJ also about 10 years. Under a loupe, I really can’t tell the difference in finishing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
