Congrats on the new watch!

Also we can't compare experiences. Somebody living in SoCal, NYC, or Miami will have a much harder time getting pieces than somebody living in a less dense area.

Regardless, owning this watch is not impressive, getting it from an AD is.

Congratulations OP, what a great coming and back story.

It’s unfortunate that there are folks here who take pleasure in poo pooing an otherwise great incoming post.

I have ZERO spend with 4 different Rolex AD's until I purchased watches from them.

Since August 2020 I've purchased the following with ZERO spend and ZERO previous relationship. The longest that I waited was 6 months for the Sprite. I called one out-of-state AD and 6-weeks later they called and then shipped me the Submariner. I never even went in the store.

GMT Pepsi on Jubilee
Submariner (40mm)
OP 31mm (ladies - turquoise blue dial)
GMT Sprite
Submariner 41mm (126610LV)

Let me fix your post for you:

“Congrats OP, thats a fantastic pickup and glad it worked out for you after such a long wait and made you happy! Goes to show that some back-and-forth with an AD is required to get such a piece, but as long as it works for you then that's all that matters.

Thanks btw into giving us some real insight into what YOU purchased prior to get the Daytona from an AD"

See how easy that was? Same outcome and everyone is much happier... You should try it

Those are your words, Malone. The OP may have a spend history with the AD, but he didn't have to date the AD's like you did apparently. I hope they liked your flowers, wine, gifts and funny anecdotes.

Oh, and you definitely asked for a Daytona. You said your AD was working on getting you one if you need that quote, too.

Big Congratulations to you OP!

I still remember where I was when I got the text for my Daytona. What a feeling.

OP, huge congrats! Glad your AD rewarded you for what I would rate as an EXCELLENT relationship with them.

Wishing you and your family many lifetimes of enjoyment with this heirloom.

You sure have high expectations from your “friends” but do nothing in return for them.

It’s a happy occasion for OP. Why spoil it by sounding sour?

Anyway big congrats to OP! Enjoy your watch!

Everyone will have different "journeys" depending on what part of the US or world the AD is located in.

It is what it is

Odd flex and oneupsmanship. How about “awesome watch!! Wear it in the best of health.”
