so sorry to hear. hope you are successful in getting them back. be diligent and pursue every means possible.

as an aside, it would be helpful to all of us if you can tell us how you stored your watches. We all think we have clever hiding spots in our homes but maybe not. If your watches were hidden how do you think they were found? Lastly, let us know if you had insurance and if so, how you make out. No one ever wants to go through what you did but the more precautions we could take the better. thanks for sharing if you are up to it.

I wonder about that myself. I recently had a little scare. Now I only keep one watch in the house at a time and it's on my wrist. Also deleted my Instagram

When I was a kid on Long Island I used to know a kid who thought nothing about hot wiring cars and taking them for a spin. He was from Commack. I don't remember his name as I only met him once in about 1965 or thereabouts. If I come up with the name I'll let you know. It has always made me suspicious of Commack. Otherwise, I'm sorry about the loss. Terrible news. I'm sure you've already been in touch with the police. So I hope they turn up something.

Ugh, very sorry to hear. I hope you find them / have insurance. That must be a terrible feeling to have your home violated like that by a thief.

Very sorry to hear that, Jimmy. I hope you can recover them somehow and at the very least that they were insured.

Here is the town where OP is from. Looks like an affluent hamlet. Hope he is insured.

That's why I don't have instagram or any other social media. Sometimes people overlook the fact that instagram gives your exact location of where a picture was taken. All a potential theif needs to do its 'follow' you on Instagram and pinpoint the location of your home. My only 'social media' is TRF.

So sorry to hear the news. I wish you well and hopefully a recovery of your watches. It's so sad that we now live in a society where in many cases crime does pay as these types of people (animals) are not any longer held accountable for their actions. Good luck!

Sucks.
But social media is quite trackable. That being said, Tom isn't exactly invisible and he's doing OK. Better to leave the unworn pieces at the bank, but you don't want to hear that now.

Good luck getting them back, or have fun spending the insurance money.
