Can't go wrong with either, it comes down to PCL vs brushed, and whether you need the gmt function or not. I opted for the SUB-c due to the less "busier" bezel and no PCL. Good luck! Paul

The Sub-c feels a little bit bigger on my wrist than the GMTiic does. Is this the case or are they the same in thickness? Both are 40mm, I know.

I had sub first before GMTIIC but you can't go wrong with either. Good luck!

Either- It does not really matter as you will probably end up with both in the end anyway! Good Luck!

Cantgowrong with either choice. Make sure you try them both on and compare them side by side.
Which one speaks to you? What does it say?

Personally, I would go with the Sub. I'm not a huge fan of the new bezels on the GMTII with the big numbers.

Beside the clasp and the crown of a 16610 are bigger than the 16710, the bracelet are bigger too?

Until a week ago I had been facing the same decision, ended up choosing the sub mainly because I didn't think the polished centre links of the GMT would fare well with daily wear. I didn't end up with the sub though, while the guy was getting the paperwork together I tried on the Deep Sea, what a watch. Luckily he hadn't stamped the sub's warranty card & I ended up leaving with the SDDS. The other plus for the sub over the GMT is the glidelock clasp (the glidelock on the SDDS is magic).

Hi Mike,
choice depends a bit on your lifestyle / requirements: pro Sub: the timing function of the rotatable bezel might be practical in sports, for timing meetings, cooking etc. pro GMT II C: it offers more functions for travellers, either indicating
Otherwise, many points are just a matter of taste:
I recommend to you to try both models in direct comparison and find out how they look and sit on your wrist (flat bottom of the GMT vs. more convex bottom of the Sub) and then decide. I went for the GMT II C a year ago and am still convinced to have made the best choice for me. Good luck! Jann |

I have decide to go for 16710 Pepsi and the reason is you don't see it often out there. Not many out there, quite hard to find in the country am working (Bangkok) especially with box and paper.
EXII is much cheaper and easier to find Thks guys for all the advice and opinion. |

i was in the same position about this time last year, i chose the GMTIIc because it has a dressier feel and i like the way it sits closer to the wrist better but go for the one that makes you smile more
yoou cant go wrong with either

As a pilot and aviation afficiando, the GMT was a natural choice for me. I actually use the GMT/UTC/Zulu function not so much for time zone changes but because pilot weater briefings and othjer information relied upon by pilots are given in Zulu. The rotating bezel is still fine for timing parking meters and such albeit not as readily as a Sub, but thaty difference is minor.
Call me crazy but i did, immediately upon purchase, have the pepsi bezel changed to black, making the watch look more like a sub. That was 1997 and the SS 16710 had the same finish on the bracelet as the Sub. Today, the polished center links is, IMO, dressier and less "tool." The PCLs wear more in used than generally does not affect the regular bracelet. Witht hat said, PCL can be readily changed to satin. My newer GMTIIc is a two-tone but if not for my older 16710, i would definately go with the SS GMTIIc. Besides, everyone has a Sub. Last edited by SALTY; 5 July 2011 at 06:09 AM.. Reason: spElang. |

Go for a sub, it will help to keep the better GMTIIc prices up due to exclusivity

I am in the same boat as well. In one hand I want the classic look of the sub. But then again I am in the military and the GMT function may suit me well on my travels.
Also my taste is kinda flashy but not too flashy. So the ceramic GMT with shiny bezel has that kinda trick to it. Although the new sub has a ceramic bezel I cant afford a new watch (will purchase a second hand watch) But then in the end I am going to an AD and going to try them on and see which one looks/feels best and who knows a different Rolex may be on my wrist than the ones I intend because I intend to try all the Rolexes in my price range on. |

Not an easy choice. If I were only ever planning on owning one Rolex, I would probably go for the Submariner. Personally, however, I would go for the GMT Master II as it's more of a contrast to my Sea-Dweller 4000. I'm actually hoping to buy a new GMT II before the end of the year, but we shall see...
