The watch itself, El Kermit as the Spanish say, is on my list .. someone made a post a little while ago showing all the dial variations colour wise and by year, I wish I could find it, but as I was saying I love the watch per-se … I personally want full set, the works, the paperwork the anchors everything … condition for me too means a lot, but the number 4 being fat/flat has no bearing when I buy mine … have sub starbuckers mark 1, and recently tried the frog on, and at 40mm it felt so much nicer, I also much preferred the bracelet … and of course due to easily swapping the bezels it matters to me it’s 100% genuine .. so therefore worth paying the right price ..

The flat 4 never did anything for me, and I don’t think it’s worn the $7k+ premium. A nice LV can be had under $14k easily.

Like any of the other variants... "swiss only" "slanted L" etc etc... it's value is based on the market demand for the perceived or real scarcity and the uniqueness.
In this case, because the "Flat 4" was the true anniversary run and limited before being changed, I think it has created a demand for it. Does it make the watch run better, obviously not but there is definitely a demand and a premium in the market. I just liked it because it matched the Font on my 2002 Sub and I have OCD! :)

Flat 4 Kermit prices can vary quite a bit depending on condition, box, papers, and service history. Generally, you can expect to pay anywhere from $25,000 to $35,000 for a good condition model.
