Careless days at the beach bar and in the water? Most definitely the Ploprof! If you already have a regular watch and you said you just want a 'fun' watch why not switch it up. The Ploprof is definitely an attention grabber and to me it looks one of a kind. If you already have other Rolexes I would suggest the Ploprof.

DSSD. Have you ever considered an Omega POC? That's a pretty bada$$ diver.

Both are great in my opinion, but looks like the original poster is looking for something different so I vote Plo Prof, it's a head turner and if you are looking for something truly different that's the one, if fact out of the two of which I've had I think I would be more likely to replace the Omega because it's so unique. Good luck!

Wow great feedback guys. Thanks you. After reading your posts and sleeping on it, I think the only real resolve is to have a ploprof and a deep blue dssd.

DSSD is my choice. However the Deep Blue would work too.

I currently own both and will be happy to answer any questions.

I prefer the PP for many reasons. I am weird and I liked weird things. I like unique watches and crazy designs. I like a watch that says something. I think the Plop is ugly as heck and I love it!

Its amazing how well they both wear. Both are big and heavy but I have used both as daily drivers for years with no complaints. Both have excellent adjustable clasps.

I have the orange rubber and mesh bracelets and I love to swap them from time to time.

Do you have a Rolex now? If you have a Sub I would get the PP. If you don't have a sports Rolex then I might steer you towards the DSSD.

Any specific questions about them I might answer?

LOL you're kidding right?...uh..The DSSD

Omega has no style..always lacking and trailing behind when it comes to looks. This PP may be the greatest divewatch ever made but the question was which looks better...

I get such a kick out of these ridiculous looking watches...

I like to think that TRF is a better forum than most as far as being respectful of others. The OP's request is quite serious and almost 20% of the members of a Rolex forum voted for the Omega. What does that tell you?

The PP IS a crazy design which is why it is so unique. The PP was designed 40 years ago with input from Jacques Cousteau himself. I love my DSSD but James Cameron is not Cousteau.

The PP is the ultimate dedicated diver. It is outrageous and fun. The DSSD is just a really big Submariner IMO.

The PP seems to fit what your looking for better than the DSSD. It takes a lot of watch to make a DSSD look understated.

The DSSD looks great on your wrist and can be perceived as a 'normal' watch depending on the owner. Not so much with the Ploprof. IMHO it depends on the watches you already own. I see a black Sub on your first pic, and if it's yours I think the PP will stand out more and that's why I voted Ploprof.

I've owned the PloProf you're looking at and it's a great watch. It's nicely balanced on the wrist, looks great, same quality as the DSSD and is more unusual. That said, I sold mine and I bought an original PloProf instead of the re-issue and it was hands down a more enjoyable watch, both to look at and wear. The DSSD is a nice watch but IMO (and many others) it's fatally flawed in it's design, particularly the bracelet which is simply a joke for a watch-head of those proportions.

Here's my original PloProf.

Agree with all of this. OP stated he isn't looking for an all around daily driver and Prob already has a Rolex. I think the pp would be an awesome fun watch to have on those careless summer days. I bet it would make a great conversation piece too. It would Prob also be a safe bet that you'll be the only person wearing the watch within your immediate surroundings.

the pp was made as a true tool watch ,,, forget the form , look at the function ,,
red doxa in the earlier pics is nice ,,, mind you a seiko monster would fit the bill too.
