Could you explain a bit more as to the reputation of the store either here or PM?

Called Mayors at Florida Mall and wanted me to make an appt. Ended showing up there and told me they were closing and was like why didnt you state this on the phone? Told me to go to Millenia…

My ideal watch is the blue and red bezel in SS. I hear that is the Eleanor for this watch.

Not trying to hijack thread!

Thank you

If you want an appointment to ask for a blue and red bezel (GMT Pepsi I assume you mean?) then you’ll struggle hugely.

As your first Rolex from an AD, I’d focus more on an explorer, Air King or one of the datejusts.

Appreciate you responding and certainly have heard that I may never see that watch from an AD. Will wait to see the next release of models and go from there. Heard rumor of a black dial, bezel and green GMT hand, which may look great. My luck that will also be an Eleanor!
Thanks

Florida Mall Mayors will be closing soon (Rolex already gone) and the two AD's on the east coast (Daytona and Melbourne) are very small independents that I would expect to be relieved of their status at some point as they won't meet the store front requirements.

This would be best for Rolex as it centralizes the distribution into a beautiful new store in a high end mall that will service (and control) that market for years. Done and Dusted. That is unless Bucherer comes to town, then bye bye WOS / Mayors.
Do the new store front requirements dictate exterior building requirements in addition to interior designs? Hoping my AD can hold on to status.

In my opinion, Kempf's represents everything that is wrong with certain Rolex AD's. I've had good experiences at all of the Mall at Millenia WOS boutiques.
Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you at Kempf's.
My experience at Kempf's has always been superb and successful over the past 15 years. In contrast, I will never shop at any of the snobby Orlando-area boutiques. YMMV

One AD I really like is Underwood in Ponte Vedra. I purchased my BB58 there & the SA was super nice. Unfortunately she told me that Rolex was being really strict about having to go to your local AD. I'm about 2 hours away, I'm near Orlando & Underwood is near Jacksonville. But I'm going to call her up again to see if maybe things have changed.

I'm clearly a watch enthusiast with means and have dealt with a nice SA there and showed him several watches that I own for his own interest, including vintage Rolexes. I know that he has tried to put in a good word for me, but I was told that I don't fall into the type person that the owners want to sell to.

Not the right type?? Eph them!!

Is this what Rolex wants of the AD’s who sell their product, exclusivity to the point of extreme arrogance?

I would expect the total storefront needs to be up to snuff.

How Kempfs has survived is unclear. It’s a very small AD in a comfortable but not affluent area. The dealer in Vero who got axed appeared far better in every metric, including area.

What 'type' of person are they thinking you are?

I have purchased several Rolex watches at Orlando's Millenia location over the years. When they first opened, they were very welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. Unfortunately, over time, all aspects of their customer service, including responsiveness (even to an established buyer), have declined, and I have personally seen them treat other visitors to the store with very snobbish, rude, dismissive and condescending behavior. This will likely only worsen as they become the only option in the Orlando area.

I'm not exactly sure what 'type' of person they think I am. I can tell you that I don't show off my means, but I carry myself well if you pay attention to the details.

As far as my knowledge of this AD, it's more extensive that I care to publish on this forum. I agree that others may have had great experiences, however I stand by what I've already stated.

Tampa store is great! I know many first time buyers that got something. More desirable models you will need a history.

Old thread, but I searched before I started a new one.

I had a couple hours to kill before going to the airport after a conference this week, so went to Millenia to get lunch and walk around.

The mall was really busy for a Thursday afternoon, but I guess in Mickey Mouse land, everyday is a holiday....

Lots of watches on wrists walking around the mall- probably more Hublot than anything, which surprised me. Lots of Rolex, Breitling, some really cool G-Shocks, Panerai, etc.

I went in Mayors Rolex, and was treated very kindly at the door and then talked with Corey, who I found out later was manager. We talked watches for about 20 minutes- they had a few DJ for sale, and one 1908 in White gold that I tried on. The exhibition caseback is really cool, but the watch itself is not my style. I don't think I could work there telling the endless line of people that they do not have stock- especially tourists who will never be back in the store.

I went in Omega next- and the two ladies working there were extremely rude. I tried to strike up conversation, asked how their day was going, etc and it was cold as ice. I then asked if they had a FOIS for display/exhibition, and she said they have a long waiting list already. So, I was then a smartass, and asked if they had a waiting list to try on the display model. No response, so I left. I love Omega, and am seriously thinking about emailing corporate, which is not my style, but it was upsetting.

Panerai was really cool as I do not have much exposure to that brand and the staff was awesome in explaining models, history, etc. Very cordial, professional and actually turned me into a fan, I like the 40mm Radiomir.

The Tudor boutique was probably my favorite stop. The rep I talked to was really knowledgeable, and they had over 50 watches in the case. Could have spent 2 hours there. Tried on the Titanium 39, several Black Bays, and the "Boutique Only" watches.

I skipped Hublot, Tag and Breitling, but they all had good crowds in the store.

Definitely a watch nerd mall, and I am glad I stopped in.

Well I know all those people, and you are right, the people at omega are very rude. The Tudor people are very nice, I know them all. Same with the crew at Mayors. Too bad you didn’t get into Breitling. Very nice people.

The manager in Panera is Canadian who just transferred to that location. We found it interesting since we go into the panerai n Toronto that she managed there. Nice person.

And yes, I might see 10 subs and several Daytonas in that mall. Saw a sky dweller the other day. It makes you realize these watches aren’t at all rare. So many DJ and Cartiers as well.

I don't go to Orlando often any longer - had work in the area for a while that is long since completed. I 100% agree on the treatment at the Omega Boutique. I got the impression they couldn't care less if I took my last breath on their floor, very cold and borderline rude. Treated very well at Breitling and talked watches and cars for a good little while with the Mgr at Tag.

Wow, crazy that we have all had the same treatment at Omega. Not a good look for the brand.

I would have hit the other stores, but ran out of time. Rereading my post, it could be inferred I skipped them for being snobby, but not the case at all. I have an Aquaracer (my first nice watch) and appreciate both other brands. But I also have Tag and Breitling boutiques by me, so had to prioritize!

Funny, I thought the same thing about Omega.

Tudor, Panerai, Rolex, Brietling, TAG were all very nice.
