I think he means it only starting rising when the main steel models started going nuts late 21

At the very least the Rolex offers a different looking alternative when you want to switch it up.

Anyway you asked for an opinion and that’s mine. But go with what you like.

I know you mentioned this was your opinion (and I entirely respect that) -- while I agree that the Divers (or any ROO, for that matter) are slightly "chunky," I'd patently disagree on categorizing them as having a generic dial. particularly in comparison to the YM42's? I mean, from more than a foot away <to where you can't read the tiny text>, the YM42's dial is nearly identical to a Sub's dial. so if that's not generic (as far as wide and common applications), I don't know what would be.

Fair point. Though I’d view the YM as a “classic” dial rather than generic. Rolex’s classic stylistic language may be similar to other Rolex models, but I wouldn’t say that’s generic. Conversely, I don’t think the ROO diver is a “similar” looking dial as much as it looks average… if “generic” is too harsh of a word. Again, only my opinion as a dude who does not have either watch or any ambition to have either watch.

No worries; thank you for clarifying your point of view. I suppose an alternative view, which may be similar to what you're suggesting, is that the OP has a tapisserie dial already in the form of the unique 43mm taupe; so a uniformly black tapisserie might be ordinary for him.. vs having a different appearing rolex dial, which makes some sense.

Nevertheless, I would still personally trade a ym42 for a ceramic diver, if the opportunity presented itself.

Better finishing.
Overall higher quality.

And if you have a Sub (profile pic), a YM is somewhat redundant.

I couldn’t wait, I paid a bit over list, spent too much time building Rolex relationships and not ap. can’t get a foothold. Going to buy my wife a 37mm Royal Oak to get in the ladder next year.

It’s the best watch I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot. If you got sub 7 inch wrist get the small straps.

You should see it in a sunny day, pictures don’t do it justice! Hope it comes soon!

Just to finish off, it’s arrived, so happy, went to set the time and the crown came out in my hand!!!!

It’s going back tomorrow for a full repair and pressure test.

Ordinarily I would ask for a refund but it’s so amazing and rare I’m going to keep it.

Would you?
